This 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ is from the final year of the third generation and is powered by a 400ci Pontiac V8 coupled to a GM 3-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. With an odometer reading of 12,000 that is believed to be 112,000, this SJ-trim Grand Prix contains rally gauges and sports front disc brakes, variable-ratio power steering, and Pontiac's handling package. Finished in Berkshire Green with a contrasting Buckskin Cordova top, this Grand Prix is now offered on a clear Texas title.
The 1977 model year of the Grand Prix was refreshed from the previous third-generation design, with a new grille, headlight layout, tail lamp design, and front bumper. This example appears unmodified from its factory state including Berkshire Green paint that shows well and a Buckskin Cordova top which exhibits no obvious flaws. This Grand Prix SJ sits on a set of Rally II wheels which are wrapped in narrow whitewall tires.
Grand Prix badging is present on the front clip, trunk lid, and the aft portion of the front fenders, where it is accompanied by SJ lettering.
Buckskin leather lines the interior and is used in places such as the seats, door panels, and headliner. The dash offers subtle contrast while the instrument panel, steering wheel, and door panels wear wood appliqué trim. An 8-track deck is installed in the center stack. Equipment includes air conditioning and the front bucket seats are divided by an optional center console with wood trim.
An array of Rally gauges sits behind the three-spoke steering wheel which includes a 100-mph speedometer, a clock, and instruments for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel. The odometer displays 12,138 miles but is believed to have rolled over, and total mileage is unknown.
Pontiac's 400ci V8 was the largest engine choice for 1977 after the large-journal 455 was discontinued. Output for the 1977 model year was 185 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, while California cars were rated at 180 horsepower and 325 pound-feet due to emissions equipment. The engine is mated to a GM three-speed Hydra-Matic transmission which drives the rear wheels. Other equipment includes power steering with a variable ratio rack and front disc brakes, and SJ trim came standard with the Rally RTS handling package.

Undercarriage photos uploaded at the top
I believe the paint to be original and the top to be original. I do not see signs that it was painted. Surface rust on undercarriage as seen in photos, wipes off with finger. In both videos I show full interior and exterior, including the working AC/heater and working 8 track.
Videos are in the comments, I posted them to YouTube so you can see in full detail. I’ve also uploaded pictures of the undercarriage, I’ll reach out to AutoHunter to see where they are posted
