This 1999 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG is a limited-run, well-maintained sport sedan powered by a 4.3-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. It was originally sold in September 1999 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, as one of 550 units of its kind for the model year. Equipment includes an upgraded H&R suspension, a replacement transmission, and Xenon headlamps. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a black leather interior, this W202 C43 is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
This hand-built C43 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features AMG-specific aero body treatment for the front and rear bumpers as well as the lower rocker panels. Front lighting includes Xenon headlamps, and replacement side-view mirrors have been installed from a W210-model E-Class. This C-Class came factory-equipped with a power tilt/sliding moonroof, tinted windows, and a dual exhaust with AMG-branded polished outlets at the left rear.
Aluminum 17” 5-spoke wheels with Mercedes center caps are wrapped in new tires on all four corners. The braking system is comprised of E55-model components, and the seller indicates that the front brake pads are new.
The interior is trimmed in Tuxedo Black and gray leather with black door panels, carpet, and dash. The dash, doors, and center console are trimmed in burled walnut, and the seller indicates that the headliner has been replaced. Amenities include automatic climate control, 10-way adjustable seats, auto-dimming mirrors, and the audio system is aftermarket with Bluetooth.
White-faced AMG-branded instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows over 262k original miles.
The M113 4.3-liter V8 is original to the car and was factory-rated at 306 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque when new. A fuel system service was performed at the dealer in 2008, and the seller reports that the 5-speed auto transmission has been replaced.
The suspension also has been upgraded with H&R springs paired with Bilstein shock absorbers for a lowered stance and improved handling. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The CARFAX report documents minor damage to the front left corner in January 2021 and a passing Maryland emissions inspection in 2010. The sale includes an OEM first aid kit.
