This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop is a multiple-award-winning product of a concours-level restoration effort that involved a full professional repaint, reupholstered interior, and drivetrain refurbishment. Powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission, this Bel Air has been upgraded with high-performance heads. This Bel Air is finished in black over Matador Red and offered with a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.
This pillarless hardtop underwent a high-end refurbishment that included a black repaint followed by reapplication of chrome and stainless steel trim, as well as the anodized gold "V" and "Chevrolet" logos. The seller emphasizes the quality of the build.
Factory 14” steel wheels have full factory chrome covers and are wrapped in newer wide-whitewall tires. Handling is managed by factory power steering.
The interior is trimmed in a two-tone color scheme, with a Matador Red painted dash, red and black vinyl bench seats, and black carpet. The dash is accented by a full-width aluminum bezel with "Bel Air" script on the passenger side. Amenities include a Wonderbar AM/FM radio, and a full-size BFGoodrich spare tire and associated jack equipment are located in the trunk.
Instrumentation is framed by a red 2-spoke steering wheel with a chrome inner horn ring and consists of a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer shows approximately 14k miles, though true mileage is not known. An analog clock is mounted above the glove compartment.
The "Power Pack" 283ci V8 is fitted with a 4-barrel carburetor and high-performance heads, and the seller indicates that annual fluid changes have been performed. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission with a column-mounted shift lever.
Photos showing the condition of the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes extensive documentation of the restoration, including receipts and photographs, as well as the trophies the car has been awarded.
