The conversation you are referring to about it being a 460 block was an assumption based on the manufacturing plant that produced the block. There is not difinitive proof that it is a 460. I have mechanics that have extensive knowledge with Fords that checked whether this 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has a 2-bolt or 4-bolt main. They discovered it's a 2-bolt main with wide web making the block a 429 CJ or Police Interceptor. You are more than welcome to have the vehicle inspected. I'll verify the rear end differential case shortly. Thanks so much for your inquiries & happy bidding!

Please see below for the picture of the exhaust manifolds. The codes for the passenger side (D2OE-9430-CA) and driver side (D2OE-9431-AA1) tell us they are for a 1972 Police Interceptor 429 so they are not the original. The picture of the last half of the driver's side exhaust manifolds is not clear so I only have the picture of the last half of the passenger side. Please click the pictures for a full view. Happy bidding!!
@Magilbert – Is it all original? Do the serial numbers match? ...
Please see below for the two photos of the left and right side heads, respectively. They both read D0O-R and that tells us the heads are for a 1970-1971 Ford 429ci engine for Cobra Jet and Super Cobra Jet with 2.24 intake & 1.72 exhuast valves, 73.5cc chambers making them correct for this 1971 Mustang Mach 1 429 SCJ. I posted again so I could reply to your question to make sure you saw this and the other components I have posted. Sorry for the duplication.
