This 1947 Plymouth 2-door Deluxe sedan is an award-winning, resto-mod that underwent a detailed restoration a decade ago and has been with the seller for 20 years. The car is powered by a bored Chevrolet 350ci V8 with a B&M blower that is paired with a T350 automatic transmission. Upgrades include custom paint over a shaved and tubbed body, a two-tone tweed interior, an upgraded suspension, and more. Finished in Dark Persimmon Metallic, this 2-door sedan is now offered with a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The body was resprayed in Dark Persimmon Metallic with ghost flames as part of a complete rotisserie restoration in 2011. The panels were smoothed and shaved, and the grille and trim were painted to match. The factory front marker lights and the taillights were replaced with slim units, the bumpers were removed, and polished side-exit exhaust outlets were added forward of each rear tire.
Aftermarket polished aluminum Weld Racing 15” wheels are wrapped in staggered-width 165 86S Mickey Thompson tires up front and 33"x21.5" in the rear. The body has been tubbed to accommodate the performance wheel and tire setup.
The interior is fitted with custom light gray and copper tweed bucket seats with matching door panels, headliner, and gray carpet. The painted dash incorporates ghost flames in Dark Persimmon to tie in with the exterior, and an upholstered center console sits between the seats. Amenities include power windows and locks and electronically-actuated doors, trunk, and hood cowl. The console-mounted audio system is a modern AM/FM/CD head unit.
The gauge cluster is a Dakota digital instrument panel. The odometer reads just under 5k miles, which reflects the distance driven since the restoration. True chassis mileage is unknown.
The Chevrolet 350ci V8 has been bored .30 over and is fitted with a B&M blower and fueled by a custom fuel cell. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a turbo 350 automatic transmission with a console-mounted shift lever.
The suspension is a Ford Mustang front end and a 4-link rear, and the frame and all components have been powder coated in gloss black.
The sale includes receipts and documentation from the restoration process, as well as awards received.
