Hi, I'm Marty Miller with the Classic Car Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are selling this authentic Meyers Manx dune buggy. Many of you already know that Bruce Meyers originated the concept of building a performance dune vehicle on the shortened chassis of a Volkswagen Beetle. He had a great idea and his dune buggy was immortalized in the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" when Steve McQueen drove a Manx over the sand dunes with Faye Dunaway as his co-pilot. Unfortunately, Meyers failed to patent his invention and a slew of lookalikes sprang up attempting to mimic the Manx. Well this vehicle is the real deal--an authentic registered Meyers Manx. As a fan of Steve McQueen, I like to think that he wouldn't have worn a knockoff Rolex either. Hopefully the pictures and the video taken a few days ago show the vehicle properly, but I'd welcome any questions you have and will be pleased to try and answer them. Even if you don't choose to bid, we hope you enjoy looking at this fine vehicle--it represents a turning point in off-road vehicles, earning Bruce Meyers a place in American automotive history.
