Vehicle Story

This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS underwent a professional restoration in 2006, and is powered by its matching-numbers 396ci V8 paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and 12-bolt rear end. Equipment includes factory power steering, sway bars, upgraded front disc brakes, and auxiliary gauges. Finished in blue metallic over a black vinyl interior, this Chevelle is now offered with a Protect-O-Plate and a clear Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

The body was resprayed in blue metallic as part of the professional restoration 15 years ago, and the seller reports that close attention was paid to panel gaps, fitment, and finish. Exterior features consist of chrome bumpers, rocker panel moldings, badges, window surrounds, and mirrors, as well as a dual exhaust.

Chromed 14” Rallye wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. Handling is managed by power steering and power brakes, with the front being upgraded to discs, and factory sway bars.

The interior is fitted with vinyl bucket bench seating and matching door panels, dash, and carpet, all of which are reported to be in excellent condition per the seller. Features include aluminum trim and a Hurst-style shifter. Jack equipment is located in the matte black trunk, and the seller reports that the factory AM radio and clock are not working.

Instrumentation is situated behind the two-spoke steering wheel and consists of a 120-mph speedometer, factory gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, and a pod of three Sun Tach gauges mounted below the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 89,000 miles, which the seller asserts is true.

The matching-numbers 396ci V8 is topped with a chrome-finished air cleaner and has been upgraded with performance headers. Power is sent to the rear 12-volt axle through a Muncie 4-speed.

The sale includes include a Protect-O-Plate in the original owner's name. A video is available for viewing below.
