This 1961 Buick LeSabre is a first-year, second-generation convertible powered by a 364ci Nailhead V8 fed by a 2-barrel Rochester carburetor and mated to a Turbine Drive automatic transmission. Fitted with a new soft top in 1985, paint is described by the seller as a respray while interior carpeting has been replaced along with rubber weatherstripping and window felt. This midcentury Buick convertible is finished in Bimini Blue over a contrasting dark blue interior and is now offered with a clear Pennsylvania title in the seller's name.
Bimini Blue was a factory-offered color for the 1961 Buick model year, but the seller describes the current finish as a respray. The cloth convertible top is matching and was replaced in 1985, while new locking mechanisms were installed this year. Brightwork is described as being in good condition according to the seller, and Buick tri-shield badges are affixed to the hood and trunk.
Wheels are fitted with hubcaps that are correct for the year and are wrapped in narrow whitewall tires. Features include power steering and power brakes which actuate drums at all four corners with fresh shoes.
Blue interior upholstery is reported to be original while replacement carpets lining the floors are covered by period-correct protective mats. Weatherstripping for the doors and guides for the main windows and vent windows have been replaced.
Buick's Mirromagic gauges are framed by a two-spoke steering wheel. A new custom sound system is listed as being installed, but the clock is described as inoperative. The mechanical odometer shows just under 45k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
Beneath the hood sits a Buick 364ci Nailhead V8 topped with an original 2-barrel Rochester carburetor which allowed for 260 gross horsepower when new. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 2-speed Turbine Drive automatic transmission. The seller reports the radiator was re-cored.
The undercarriage contains areas of rust per the seller, who adds that products and materials to perform a repair will be included with the car if not taken care of prior to the sale. The exhaust system is described as new with a replacement manifold on the passenger side. Gas tanks sourced from another Buick LeSabre are also present.

@atbelair – Is undercarriage rust necessary right away and if so how much time will it take? No seatbelts right? Radio, heater/defroster, lights, turn signals all working? Thx D ...
Is undercarriage rust necessary right away and if so how much time will it take? No seatbelts right? Radio, heater/defroster, lights, turn signals all working? Thx D The Undercarriage isn't necessary right away, I just think it would complete the car if that makes sense. I bought a product when sprayed on and pressure washed off would remove the surface rust, I also was planning on using the POR15 underneath and above just to know it was done. The time frame would probably be 4 weekends. As for the seat belts, as mentioned below, that year didn't have seat belts it was an option that the original owner didn't buy. The Radio is brand new, it is a Bluetooth radio from Classic Radio, heater/defroster, lights, turn signals, etc. all work fine. It starts right up after a few pumps to get the gas to the carb.

Hi, My name is Matt, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. The car is in my garage and will start right up. If you would like to come and see it just text me at the number in the comments and I will call you back or text you back. I truly thank you for looking at my car.
I also have the original Window Sticker, the Buick Owners Portfolio that includes the 1961 Owners Guide, the Thank You card from the original auto dealer, the Operation and Care Guide for the Convertible Top, the 1961 Buick Accessories brochure, and the 1961 Owners Protection Plan Service Manual. It shows wear, but there weren't any records in it, I do also have the original owner's registration card for February 27, 1961, as well as the original color swatch Paint Code flyer.
@Gunner54 – Can you be more specific on the rust and needed repair? Extent of damage and cost? ...
As you can see from the pictures, there is rust under the car, there are a few places that would need repair. I feel since it is a 60-year-old car, it isn't bad. I was planning on working on the undercarriage this year. I have all the products to remove the surface rust and then I also have POR15 to be applied after the chassis was cleaned of all the rust. Giving you a price, I can't do that because I was going to do it myself. I have had many classic cars and have always done the work myself. If you are mechanically inclined then you to can use the products that I have and fix the issues. I hope this helps.
@atbelair – Does car have seat belts? Does car have convertible top boot cover and what color? Miles 45k or 145k? Thx DN ...
The 1961 Buick had optional seat belts, my car does not have seat belts. In 1964 all Buicks came with seat belt as a standard. The boot is a metallic blue-colored boot, it is very old, but does snap over the Convertible top. As for the miles, I was told by the old owner it was original mileage.
