This 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a first-year coupe with recent maintenance history that underwent a professional repaint, which features newer tires with custom wheels, a vinyl roof, woodgrain trim, auxiliary gauges, and a stereo system with a CD head unit. Power comes from a 327ci small-block Chevrolet V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission according to the seller, who notes an oil change and a transmission fluid service in April 2021. Finished in Forest Green over a green interior, this Monte Carlo is offered with a clear Louisiana title in the seller’s name.
This Monte Carlo was professionally resprayed in Forest Green (48) and has a matching dark green vinyl roof. Its body lines and finishes are reported to be in good condition aside from areas of rust that have formed at the base of the vinyl top as shown in the photo gallery. The front and rear bumpers, rocker panels, windows, and wheel arches are accented in bright trim that appears free of pitting or corrosion. A dual exhaust system is installed with exits below the rear bumper.
Aftermarket five-spoke 15” Eagle polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in six-month-old Hankook Kinergy 235-section tires, with raised-white-letters showing at the rear and black sidewalls up front.
The interior is upholstered with green vinyl for both the front and rear bench seats, with a matching tone used for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Each of the seats has a small tear of about one inch according to the seller. The padded dash is crack-free and has a lockable glove compartment on the passenger side, while the driver area is trimmed in a woodgrain overlay that is continued on the steering wheel. The original radio has been upgraded a with modern Sony AM/FM/CD head unit. The car came factory-equipped with air conditioning, but the seller indicates that no compressor is currently installed.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, a fuel gauge, and indicators for other vehicle systems. A series of four auxiliary aftermarket gauges are located in a chrome bezel that is mounted below the center of the instrument panel, displaying readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 56k miles, but true mileage is unknown.
The seller describes the engine as a 327ci small-block Chevrolet V8, which is dressed up with chrome Chevrolet-branded valve covers and fitted with an Edelbrock intake manifold. Service noted by the seller includes an oil change and a transmission fluid service performed in April 2021. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic operated by column-mounted lever.
A photo of the undercarriage shows the dual exhaust and replaced shocks.
