Vehicle Story

This 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS is finished in Platinum Silver over black vinyl upholstery and recently underwent a frame-off restoration. This SS is powered by a 427ci V8 and paired with a close-ratio Muncie 4-speed manual transmission.  Shifting is performed with a period-correct Hurst shifter, and power is sent to the rear wheels with a Ford 9 bolt posi-traction rear end. The odometer shows 22K miles, with 1K added by the seller during their two years of ownership. Equipment includes performance camshaft, headers, power steering, and electronic ignition. Maintenance has been kept up with on this Impala, with an oil change performed in July 2020 in anticipation of the sale. Now offered with service records, this 427 Impala comes with a clear North Carolina title in the seller's name.

This Impala SS is finished in Ford Platinum Silver with a black side stripe running the length of the car. The seller states there is no evidence of rust or blemishes in the paint. Chrome bumpers and factory emblems are fitted to the front and rear of the car and dual chrome exhaust tips exit the rear.

The car rides on staggered fit Foose wheels sized 17" in the front and 18" in the rear. The wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone Dueller HT tires on all four corners. The seller notes adding 4-wheel disc brakes as well as mildly lowering the car from factory specifications.

The interior has been restored and features a black vinyl interior with factory bucket seats with black carpets. Though not a factory Super Sport, SS trim logos are shown on the door panels and center console.  Other notable interior features include a polished Hurst shifter and retro sound stereo.  A fire extinguisher is also included in the sale.

Behind the aftermarket leather and billet steering wheel sits instrumentation, including a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and a five-digit analogue odometer that shows 22K miles. Aftermarket gauges are fitted beneath the center stack.

The seller states the 427ci V8 engine has an estimated output of 425 horsepower. Upgrades include an electronic ignition, a mild performance camshaft, headers, and an Edlebrock 4-barrel carburetor with aluminum intake. A close-ratio Muncie rock crusher 4-speed transmission with a Centerforce clutch was also fitted during the restoration. Power is put to the ground through a 9" Ford rear end with a posi-traction rear differential.

Additional photos showing the underside of the vehicle are provided in the gallery.
