This 1983 Porsche 928S is powered by a 4.7-liter SOHC, 16-valve V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission and has been with its owner for 12 years. Accompanied by its original window sticker and a binder full of service records and repair invoices, it remains unmodified down to a period Blaupunkt tape deck. Finished in a respray of its factory Light Bronze metallic over a re-trimmed Grey-Beige interior, this automatic 928S is offered on a clear Missouri title in the owner's name.
Light Bronze metallic was a factory-offered color for the 1983 model year and the finish here is described as a respray performed in 2014. The air dam affixed to the front end appears free of blemishes and is balanced by a matching black hatchback spoiler on the rear. Tinted aft windows shade the interior while lighting remains unchanged from stock including pop-up sealed-beam headlights.
Body panels are said to remain original and the wheels are the factory-offered set of slotted items which come wrapped in matching Firestone Firehawk tires.
The interior was reupholstered in material that matches the factory Grey-Beige leather. Features include air conditioning, cruise control, and power exterior mirrors, but none are currently operational. The driver's seat is power-adjustable and the radio is a period Blaupunkt Dearborn tape deck. Black carpeted floor mats with red 928S embroidery are present in the front footwells.
The gauge cluster contains a 7,000-rpm tachometer and a 160-mph speedometer, along with an inoperative odometer. Additional gauges for fuel, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and charging system voltage are also present ahead of the factory four-spoke steering wheel.
Power comes from a numbers-matching 4.7-liter SOHC, 16-valve M28/20 V8 which sits in a detailed engine bay beneath polished intake manifold runners and the factory strut brace. Bosch L-Jetronic manages fuel delivery, and output when new was 234 horsepower at 5,500 rpm with 263 pound-feet of torque at 4,000. Power is sent to the rear axle through a 4-speed automatic transmission which was new for the 1983 model year. A binder containing years of invoices, receipts, and maintenance records is included.
Photos of the undercarriage reveal a layer of undercoating protecting various metal components.
Included in the sale is the window sticker and a binder with documentation.
