This 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 is powered by a 289ci V8 fueled by a two-barrel carburetor which is mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. Repainted in the 1990s, the interior work completed in 2009, and the seller lists an array of replaced mechanical parts performed during preceding years and describes the car as a clean Colorado example with very little rust. Finished in factory-offered Guardsman Blue with a Wimbledon White roof over a blue metallic interior, this 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 has been with the seller for six years and benefits from extensive servicing.
The hardtop coupe is divided by a Wimbledon White roof with Guardsman Blue on the body. The current finish is a respray performed in the 1990s, while the white paint on the roof is believed to be original. Fairlane 500 and 289 badges appear to remain in their factory positions while beltline trim runs the length of the body on both sides. Bumpers are finished in chrome and a single exhaust pipe exits below the rear.
Wheels wear a set of covers with faux knock-off spinners and narrow whitewall tires were recently mounted according to the seller.
The interior contains seats that were reupholstered in metallic blue covers in 2009 along with the carpeting, while the original door cards and headliner have been retained. The radio is also said to be original along with the gauges, which are reported to remain operational. The steering wheel resembles the factory design but has a wrapped rim. The trunk holds an adhesive liner and a spare tire.
The instrument cluster contains three gauges, including a 120-mph speedometer, fuel, and coolant temperature gauges, along with indicator lights for the oil and charging system.
The engine is a 289ci Ford small-block V8 topped with a two-barrel carburetor. The drivetrain consists of a 3-speed manual operated by column shift which benefits from a new clutch and transmission fluid. Work performed during the sellers' ownership includes a new heater core, coolant hoses, and reconditioned radiator. The fuel system was addressed as well with a rebuilt carburetor and new fuel pump while the gas tank was removed to be cleaned, pressure tested before being painted and a new fuel sending unit installed. Additional service work performed includes a new starter, solenoid, battery, rear axle seals, U-joints, stabilizer links, strut rod bushings, and shocks. The braking system was addressed with new lines, shoes, springs, and hardware, with the front wheel bearings repacked as well.
A full-size spare tire is housed in the trunk with an original style trunk mat

@Smithls1 – Very nice looking car. Are there any pictures of the undercarriage? I am interested in what the floor pans look like. Any idea how many miles are on the car? You mentioned “very little rust”. What part of the car is it on? I’m very interested and wish I could come see it in person but traveling to Colorado from Houston in the next couple of days isn’t likely to happen. Thanks much! ...

@Smithls1 – Would be nice to get a response to questions before the auction ends. ...
I’m sorry it took me so long to answer, I didn’t see the questions. The undercarriage was coated several years ago and is very sound, no rust on the floor boards. The rust it does have is on the driver side front fender at the bottom. Thank you
