This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is powered a Ram Air-equipped 351ci Cleveland V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic and is described as restored by the seller, who lists a high degree of accuracy in the build. Features include Magnum 500 wheels, factory front and rear spoilers, an upgraded Jensen sound system, and a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe and headers. The engine is described as the car's numbers-matching 351 Cleveland and this Mustang Mach 1 is finished in Light Pewter over a black vinyl interior.
1971 brought a facelift to the Mach 1 and this example wears Light Pewter with contrasting black accent striping present on the sides, hood, and trunk lid, while Mach 1 logos are affixed to each front fender and at the rear. Factory-offered aero equipment on this example includes a lower front air dam, a dual-intake Ram Air hood, and a rear spoiler. The front and rear bumpers are chrome-finished and are said to be free of corrosion or pitting. A dual exhaust system with polished tips is installed, and all surfaces are illustrated in detail in the image carousel.
Factory chrome-finished 15” Magnum 500 five-spoke wheels are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The suspension is comprised of coil springs up front and leaf springs in the rear.
The interior is set up as a 2+2 seating configuration, upholstered with black vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels, a padded dash, a center console, and full carpeting with mats. Faux woodgrain applique panels are present on the door panels and center stack. The stereo system is an aftermarket Jensen AM/FM/CD head unit, and speakers have been installed in the rear deck. The trunk is lined in a patterned vinyl mat and houses a spare tire and associated tools.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge, as well as three additional gauges mounted at the top of the center stack with readouts for oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. An 8,000-rpm SunPro tachometer has been added to the steering column and an analog clock is mounted on the center console near the shift lever. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 35k miles, which the seller asserts as original.
The M-code 351ci Cleveland V8 is reported to be original to the vehicle and wears Ford's corporate blue engine paint. When equipped with Ram Air as in this example, the 351 Cleveland developed 285 gross horsepower at 5,400 rpm and 370 pound-feet of torque at 3,400. The engine is housed within a matte-black engine bay and has a blue-finished air cleaner with 351 Ram Air decals. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a C6 3-speed automatic transmission operated by a console-mounted shift lever.
Photos showing the underside are available for viewing in the image carousel.
I would have to drop a 460 in that thing and shelve the 351 for the collector...lol
I note it says restored by owner. looks nice however before bidding my concern is rusty floor panels under carpets, looks extreme for internal panel work. nicely cleaned up however.

@Calguy75287 – Hello! Would you happen to have a VIDEO of the startup or idling you could provide? Would love to hear the rumble! Also, any maintenance issues/oil leaks, etc to know about? How long have you had it in your collection? Any idea how many previous owners? Thanks! Cary ...
I provided a video link to Auto Hunter, they should be posting it soon. It has a nice rumble. The previous owner is the one that had the car gone through and restored. We have only had it at our shop for 2 weeks. I don't have any spots on the floor so nothing serious. I see a little wetness so probably nothing that a new pan gasket wouldn't be able to take care of. Good luck with the bidding!
