Vehicle Story

This 1961 Chevrolet C10 is a custom pickup that has been modernized with a Vintage Air climate control system, a newer stereo, 18” aluminum wheels, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and digital gauges. The recipient of a frame-off restoration that involved the installation of all-new glass, window seals, and new wood bed floor along with stainless steel rails and hardware. Power comes from a rebuilt 350ci V8 that has been upgraded with an Edelbrock carburetor, mated to a 4-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. Finished in red over a two-tone black and white vinyl interior, this first-generation C10 is offered with a clear Texas title in the seller’s name.

This C10 is a second-year model with a stepside bed, that was professionally repainted red as part of the frame-off restoration according to the seller. The exterior received a cut and buff at the time of restoration, and the seller states that the surfaces are free of stone chips. The front end features ivory-colored surrounds for the grille and the intake grates on the hood, and both the front and rear bumpers are new. The wood in the bed was replaced and finished in automotive clear coat, and the bed features stainless-steel runners and hardware. The fuel tank was relocated to beneath the bed, and the tailgate has a raised Chevrolet logo in black.

Aftermarket 18” five-spoke wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A 245/55 tires. Brake components are all-new per the seller, including the booster, master cylinder, lines, front rotors, and rear drums.

The interior was re-trimmed in custom-upholstered black and white vinyl and new black carpet as part of the restoration. The door panels are color-matched to the exterior and have replaced hardware installed, including handles and window cranks. Glass has also been replaced along with window and door seals. A variety of other upgrades were incorporated as part of the build, including a chrome tilt-adjustable steering column, a new wiring harness, a vintage-style stereo, and an air conditioning system from Vintage Air which has vents mounted beneath the dash.

Instrumentation is comprised of modern replacement gauges from Dakota Digital. The digital odometer reads 375 miles, which is indicative of the distance covered since completion of the restoration. True chassis mileage is unknown.

The rebuilt 350ci V8 has been upgraded with an Edelbrock EnduraShine intake manifold and a 750-cfm carburetor with an electric choke from the same manufacturer. The cooling system features an aluminum radiator and electric fan which keep the truck at a consistent 185 degrees with the A/C on per the seller. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear axle which contains 3:55 gearing.

Photos showing the underside are available in the gallery, illustrating the level of attention to detail throughout.

@Cynders – Why do they keep adding time to the bid? ...

When you make a bid at the end they reset 2 minutes to give the other person a chance to bid.
