This 1965 Ford Mustang is described as a C-code fastback that underwent a mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment in between 2003 and 2005 according to the seller. Power is delivered by a rebuilt 289ci V8 that has been upgraded with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, which is mated to a rebuilt C4 3-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes front disc brakes. Originally finished in Dynasty Green, this first-generation, second-year Mustang now wears red with black racing stripes over a black interior and is offered on an Alabama bill of sale.
The fastback body of this 1965 Mustang was originally finished in Dynasty Green (code C per the trim tag), but is reported to been resprayed in red with black stripes in 2005. Exterior features include a hood scoop, side panel air inlets, C-pillar vents, Mustang 2+2 emblems on the front fenders, and dual exhaust outlets.
Factory 14” chrome and black wheels with Mustang center caps are wrapped in 205-section BFGoodrich Touring T/A tires. Disc brakes were added during the 2003–2005 refurbishment.
The interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats and contains a matching dash and door panels. The driver seat faces a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and ventilation is provided by wing windows for the driver and front passenger. A modern stereo head unit has been installed in the dash which links to a CD changer in the trunk. The trunk is lined with a plaid vinyl mat and houses a full-size Firestone spare tire.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, factory dials for fuel level and coolant temperature, and a pair of aftermarket gauges mounted below the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 40,800 miles, but total chassis mileage is unknown.
The rebuilt C-code 289ci V8 wears a chrome air cleaner with “High Performance” decals and has been upgraded with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and an Optima Redtop battery. Factory output for the 1965 model year C-code 289 was 200 gross horsepower at 4,400 rpm with 282 pound-feet of torque peaking at 2,400. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt C4 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission with a floor-mounted T-handle shifter.
