This original all-steel 1934 Ford 5-Window Coupe is finished in red over a tan leather interior and is powered by a 540ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Built as a High Boy style hot rod, the body has undergone numerous modifications and the interior is fully custom. Equipment includes Edelbrock performance components, multi-link suspension with painted and polished components, custom dual-outlet exhaust, and airbrushed graphics inside & out. The seller has owned the car for 11 years and this coupe is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Professionally built without traditional front fenders or running boards, this 1934 Ford is comprised of factory original steel and finished in bright red with purple flame graphics running the length of the car. Modifications include custom half fenders on the front wheels, louvered side hood and trunk, chopped roofline, retractable rear window, and custom taillights. The seller states it has won awards at numerous local shows for best paint.
Polished aluminum wheels measure 14 inches in the front and 15 inches in the rear. The front tires are Bridgestone Eagers while the rear has Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros that measure 29x15.5.
The interior is fitted with tan seats upholstered in matching leather featuring a V8 insignia embroidered in red into the upper portion. The tan leather extends to the custom door panels which feature red and purple accents in the armrests. Matching tan headliner and carpet was fitted as well. The pedals are billet aluminum and a polished three-spoke steering wheel with tilt column was added. The trunk is fully carpeted to match with a V8 logo embroidered into the divider.
Instrumentation includes a fuel gauge, voltmeter, gear selector indicator, 120-mph speedometer, and a large centrally-located 10k rpm tachometer. The keyed ignition and switches for the lights are mounted inside the glove compartment and a custom red and purple center console houses the floor-mounted shifter. The six-digit odometer reads 1.7k miles, of which about 300 miles have been added by the seller over 11 years of ownership.
Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 540ci Chevrolet V8 and produces in excess of 700 horsepower as stated per the seller. It features a 1100cfm carburetor, Eagle rotation kit, Edelbrock cam, aluminum heads, and Durango chrome air intake. A 3-speed Turbo 400 automatic transmission transfers power to the narrowed rear end. Paperwork is available to documenting the work performed on the car. Recent maintenance includes a new air cleaner as well as an oil change in August 2020.
The rear suspension features a multi-link setup with coil-over shocks, with tubular control arms and coil-over shocks up front. The frame and components are finished in red to match the body and the dual exhaust system is comprised of polished stainless steel. Additional photos showing the detailed undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
