Vehicle Story

This 1987 BMW 325is has been with the seller for seven years and was first sold in New York State, where it has reportedly remained ever since. Power comes courtesy of an M20B25 2.5-liter inline-six that was replaced by a BMW dealership at 92k miles according to receipts which cite a hydro-locked block as the cause. The engine is backed by a Getrag 5-speed manual transmission and mileage stands at 114,652, a figure that is described as original by the seller and verified by a vehicle history report. Finished in Delphin Grey metallic over a Pearl Beige leather interior, equipment includes the factory M-Tech I front air dam and steering wheel, the trunk lid spoiler, and style 5 BBS basketweave wheels, among more detailed below. This 325is is offered with a clean CARFAX and a clear New York title in the seller's name.

The exterior of this first-year 325is is finished in factory-offered Delphin Grey metallic and wears five-mph anodized aluminum diving board bumpers which were standard equipment until the 1989 model year. The M-Tech I front air dam and the trunk lid spoiler are part of "is" trim and lighting appears unchanged from stock with U.S.-spec sealed beam headlamps and Bosch fog lights mounted up front. The power-operated mirrors are color-matched to the body and original equipment included M Sport suspension.

BMW style 5 wheels by BBS also came standard on the 325is and measure 14" in diameter.

Interior upholstery is Pearl Beige leather and factory equipment for the model included front sport seats, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and a 13-button on-board computer. The rear vent windows are manually opened and closed, and the factory premium sound system remains fitted with a total of four speakers and four tweeters, as does the factory tool kit.

The steering wheel is the factory three-spoke M-Tech I design which fronts an instrument cluster housing a 7,000-rpm tachometer, 150-mph speedometer, along with gauges for fuel and temperature. The cluster is also home to a series of warning lights and a service indicator. The seller notes an illuminated ABS light. The odometer shows 114k miles which are asserted to be original by the seller and corroborated by the CARFAX report.

The M20B25 2.5-liter SOHC, 12-valve inline-six developed 168 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 164 pound-feet of torque at 4,300 when new, but was replaced with a new long block by a BMW dealership when the car had 92k miles according to the seller, who cites receipts which document a hydro-locked block. The engine is backed by a Getrag 260 5-speed manual which translates power to the original equipment limited slip rear differential. The CARFAX vehicle history report lists 25 service records with regular maintenance performed during the seller's ownership.

The CARFAX shows no history of accidents or damage and New York registration from new.
