This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS is presented as a matching-numbers convertible which is powered by a 300-horsepower L48 350ci small-block Chevrolet V8 backed by a Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed. Described as wearing a respray in its factory color, a replacement of the convertible top is also mentioned, along with equipment that includes rally wheels, redline tires, front and rear spoilers, and an AM/FM radio. This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible is finished in Matador Red with a white soft top over a red vinyl bucket seat interior and is offered on a clear Kansas title in the seller's name.
The first-generation Camaro debuted for the 1967 model year on the GM F-body platform and could be ordered in three different trim levels. This example from the last model year of its generation came equipped as a Super Sport and has reportedly been treated to a restoration. The finish was resprayed in Matador Red with a white accent stripe around the nose that continues part of the way down each side. Brightwork around the perimeter includes chrome front and rear bumpers as well as other accents, and factory-issued aerodynamic features includes a lower air dam up front and a lip spoiler at the rear. The white retractable cloth top was replaced per the seller and has a glass rear window.
Optional 15” rally wheels with polished rings and center caps are wrapped in replacement redline tires, and the steering system is power-assisted.
The interior contains reupholstered red vinyl bucket seats which are divided by a woodgrain-accented center console. The door panels, dash, and carpeting are finished in matching materials and are reported to be in excellent condition. Other items of note include an AM/FM radio and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The 3-speed automatic transmission is operated by a handle shifter located in the center console.
Instrumentation consistent of two gauges, including a 120-mph speedometer with a five-digit odometer, and a fuel gauge.
The rebuilt, numbers-matching L48 350ci small-block Chevrolet V8 is housed within a matte black engine bay and is dressed with a chrome air cleaner assembly and valve covers. Factory output was 300 gross horsepower at 4,800 rpm with 380 pound-feet of torque at 3,200. Motivation is directed to the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic transmission.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

@DPHILLIPS – Does this 68 Camaro have multi-leaf rear springs or single leaf rear spring? Also why does it have RS tail lights and backup lights but no RS front end with the hide away head lights etc.? Is this a true SS or a Clone SS in your opinion? ...
