It was not a Candy Apple red. If memory serves, it was 2002 GM Bright Red, which we slightly darkened. It was painted in 2003. Last year I had the hood painted, and the color was easily matched. I hope that helps, and thanks for the question!!

The front “push” fan was really just added as a backup or insurance plan. The car has never had an overheating issue. Under normal driving it typically stays right around 165–175 degrees. The main electric fan is a large (20inch), so it moves a lot of air on its own. The extra fan is there more for peace of mind than necessity. Thanks!!

@lizarddrummer – Sure — the small toggle switch bank below the steering wheel is there to give manual control over a few added components. The first switch (A), turns the stereo power amplifiers on and off, another (B), controls the main electric engine cooling fan, a third (C), operates a secondary “push” fan mounted in front of the radiator (mainly there as a backup or extra cooling if ever needed), and the fourth (D), switch activates the windshield washer pump. Nothing is tied together or automatic (unless switch left in on position-like main fan for example) — each function is independent, so everything can be turned on or off as needed. Thanks for the question! ...

Sounds like you have any potential overheating problems addressed with the electric fan / push fan combo?

Thanks for that info. Very helpful. I also noticed the toggle switches to the left of the steering wheel. What are those for?

Thanks for the Good question. The 2006 GTO seats were installed without altering the car itself. The original factory mounting points in the floor were kept, and the seats are bolted in using steel adapter brackets, not welded or modified into the car. If someone wanted to go back to original-style 1966 GTO seats, it would be a simple swap. The current seats and brackets would come out, and factory-style seats could bolt back into the original locations. No cutting or permanent changes were done. I wanted the car to be more comfortable to drive, but also easy to return to a stock look if the next owner prefers that. Thanks again!

I see that you’ve installed modern seats from a 2006 GTO. If I ever wanted to go back to the vintage look, how hard would it be to swap out those seats for the original / factory style seats?
