Vehicle Story

This 1933 Plymouth 5-Window coupe is the product of an extensive restoration effort that was carried out over a 10-year period by a specialty hot rod shop in Alabama. Offered with a matching Coca-Cola-themed trailer, power comes from a Chevrolet 383ci crate stroker V8 paired with a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. Fitted with modern conveniences such as air conditioning by Vintage Air, Wilwood disc brakes, a tilting steering column, and a CD player, this coupe comes custom-painted in gloss black with purple ghost flames and is offered with the trailer and spare parts from Brandon, Mississippi.

This coupe was sold new in Mississippi and is said to have spent its entire life in the south, undergoing a long-term build from 2006 through 2016 by a shop in Pelham, Alabama. Starting with a metal body and fiberglass fenders, the handles for the rear-hinged doors were shaved and a professional respray was performed with gloss black and purple ghost flames. Brightwork consists of headlight bezels and a slim sideview mirror, and taillights are integrated within the rear fenders of both the coupe as well as the accompanying Coca-Cola-branded trailer.

Five-spoke polished aluminum wheels with spinner caps are wrapped in BFGoodrich Traction T/A tires up front and Goodyear tires in the rear. The suspension features a Ford Mustang coilover front setup with rack and pinion power steering, and the rear is a four-link coilover setup. Wilwood disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors are present all around.

The interior has been reupholstered in tan vinyl by a specialty shop called Interior by Shannon in Alexander City, Alabama. Driver and passenger seats share a one-piece backrest and are split by a custom center console with cup holders, and the instrument panel wears a gloss woodgrain appliqué that matches the rim of the custom steering wheel. Creature comforts include a tilting steering column, power windows, a power-operated trunk, an AM/FM/CD head unit, and a Vintage Air climate-control system with air conditioning, heat, and defrost.

An array of aftermarket gauges are laid out across the instrument panel, including a speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and more. The odometer reads 62k miles, roughly 5,400 of which have been added since the installation of the current engine and transmission.

The Chevrolet crate 383ci stroker V8 features a custom exhaust system leading to Magnaflow mufflers. A plaque in the interior advertises output at 425 horsepower. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and a Ford nine-inch rear end.

Photos capturing the underside can be viewed in the carousel, and show the aforementioned exhaust and suspension.

A trailer comes with the car.
