Vehicle Story

This 1937 Ford Roadster was built using a Wild Rods fiberglass reproduction body and custom made chassis. The build was originally started approximately 14 years ago by an individual in Texas before the project stalled and it was sold to subsequent owners in Kansas and Oklahoma before it was acquired by the current owner in Arkansas in an unfinished state. The seller purchased the car with the 383ci Chevrolet V8 and 700R4 automatic transmission installed in an unpainted body with no interior proceeded to complete the project finishing the body in Candy Apple Red paint and installing a custom tan interior. It is now offered for sale titled as a 1937 Ford Convertible in Arkansas

The fiberglass reproduction body was produced by Wild Rod and features numerous modifications in contrast to the lines of an original 1937 Ford convertible. The body was finished in Candy Apple Red and fitted with a matching removable hardtop and features full fenders with running boards. Modifications include a horizontal wrap around grill, smoothed side panels, laid back windshield and suicide doors

The staggered fit Boyd Coddington billet wheels measure 20x9 in the front and 20x12 in the rear all wrapped in Yokohama tires. Stopping power is provided by 4 wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors.

The interior features bucket seats upholstered in tan vinyl with matching custom door panels and center console. Controls for the air ride suspension are housed in the center console along with the head unit for the stereo and controls for the air conditioning. Brown carpeting and floormats were installed with tan edging to match the rest of the interior.

The steering wheel rim was upholstered to match the rest of the interior with a polished billet center to match the tilt steering column. The dash is painted to match the exterior and houses 6 center-mounted gauges that include a speedometer, tachometer, voltage, water temperature among others. Currently, the odometer shows 8 miles which is the mileage since the car was completed.

The engine is a 383ci stroker Chevrolet small block V8 dyno'd at 475 horsepower with an 11:1 compression ratio. Some of the performance parts include a high degree camshaft, upgraded rockers, Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection. The alternator, air conditioning compressor, and other accessories are mounted to a billet serpentine system. The transmission is a rebuilt Chevrolet 700R4 automatic with a 2800 stall converter putting power to a Ford 9" rearend.

The air ride suspension utilizes tubular control arms upfront and a parrallel 4-link setup in the rear. A rack and pinion steering system was installed along with a stainless steel exhaust system with turndown style tips installed just before the rear wheels. The custom chassis utilizes numerous reinforcements and is finished in satin black, showing minimal signs of use.

Per the seller, the vehicle comes with all receipts and documentation from the build.

What is the interior noise level with the top on and the windows up? How much wind noise is there with the top on and the windows up.? Was insulation installed throughout the car, including the floor, etc.? I'm trying to get a sense of how solid the car runs, sounds, etc. without driving it, etc.

Are there any scratches, marks, etc. to the exterior paint (the pictures show a visable dark mark from what appears to be from the removable top beyond the silver docking areas)?

Gotta do a double take to catch those suicide doors. Really makes it different. IMHO
