@mrgot67 – hello one last question, ,what does it have for a drive shaft ??? the old rope kind ,, or a steel drive shaft ???? thanks ...

It has what would have been original to the car. Pontiac used essentially the same drive shaft and differential from 1961-63 in the Tempest and LeMans. Thank you

@mrgot67 – question,,,,,i remember a shift handle on the right side of dash ???? and no park ???? and e-brake to hold car when parked rope drive shaft ???are any or all of these correct ??? i am not sure was the rope drive shaft if it has one was it re-placed ????thanks ...

Hello. You are correct. The shifter is on the dash. It does have a park setting though. Truthfully this is the 4th one of these I’ve owned and I just learned it has a park setting a few weeks ago. It also has an emergency brake. The shifter works great. The transmission works great and the emergency brake works great. Thank you!
