Vehicle Story

This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette has undergone a recent body-on mechanical and interior refurbishment within the past 1k miles, most notably a professional driveline replacement. Power is now provided by a 550-horsepower 454ci V8 mated to a custom-built 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and 3.73 rear differential. New items include a high-rise hood, an MSD digital ignition system, aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, Hooker headers, side pipe exhaust with laser cutouts, fuel tank and sending unit, power steering and brakes, suspension components, AutoMeter gauges, chrome wheels, and more. The car is finished in Medium Blue over a new black vinyl interior and is fitted with removable T-tops. This C3 is now offered with the original hood, build documentation and a clear West Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The body was professionally resprayed in its original shade of Medium Blue (22-922) as part of a body-on restoration, and additions consist of an aftermarket high-rise hood, newly motorized pop-up headlamps, and side pipes with custom laser cutout chrome covers. The factory removable T-top panels are present and the original hood will go with the car.

American Racing chrome wheels with locking lug nuts are wrapped in new BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. The factory power steering has been refreshed with new hoses and a new hydraulic cylinder,  and the power brakes have been overhauled with new color-matched calipers, rotors, and hoses.

The interior has been refurbished with new black vinyl with color-matching door cards, dash, and carpet. Amenities include a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power windows, and a factory anti-theft system.

Instrumentation consists of eight new AutoMeter gauges, including the speedometer and tachometer. The odometer is reported to show 1k miles, which reflects the mileage covered since the restoration was completed.

The replacement 454ci V8 was assembled by Performance Unlimited and is rated at 550 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. Components include an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, an MSD digital ignition system, Hooker headers, and battery disconnect. The fuel tank and sending unit are new, and power is transferred to the rear wheels via a custom-built 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and torque converter with a 3:73 rear differential.

Underneath the car are new front and rear sway bar links, bushings, adjustable rear strut control rods, and rear leaf spring kit. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.

The sale includes a build list and the original hood.

@cheapmick – is there any thing wrong with the vehicle ...

Not that I'm aware of. Practically EVERYTHING is new. It just had a State Inspection. If money was burning a hole in my pocket, the steering column shaft bearing has a little play in it.
