This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door post has reportedly benefitted from more than $55,000 in work performed throughout its restoration. The small-block 350ci V8 delivers power through a 3-speed automatic transmission and was performance-upgraded with custom headers, an Edelbrock carburetor, roller rockers, and an aluminum radiator. With a resprayed black exterior over reupholstered black vinyl seating, this Bel Air is now offered with receipts and with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
The 1957 Chevrolet body style saw some design changes that emphasized aerodynamics with a widened grille, taller tailfins, and anodized gold badging. This top-line Bel Air model was reportedly professionally resprayed in black as part of a prior restoration and is surrounded by brightwork for the bumpers, grille, trim, and window surrounds. The seller states that there is some slight paint bubbling but the overall condition is reported to be very good.
Smoothed chrome 15” wheels are wrapped in 2020-dated Michelin tires that are reported to have fewer than 150 miles accrued since installation. Braking is handled by power-assisted brakes, with discs up front that were sourced from a The Right Stuff conversion kit.
The interior is fitted with reupholstered fold-forward black vinyl bench seats that were redone in 2013, along with matching door panels, dash, carpeting, and floor mats. The metal dash bears a full-width aluminum trim bezel with an analog clock at the passenger side. Additional content includes lap belts, a newer air conditioning system, and a sport steering wheel. The trunk is carpeted in black and contains a spare tire in a recessed compartment in the floor.
Instrumentation is delivered in the form of a 120-mph round speedometer and surrounding gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 89k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 350ci V8 bears block number 3970014 and brings several performance enhancements including an Edelbrock carburetor, custom headers, a Performer EPS intake manifold, a Comp camshaft, roller rockers, an aluminum radiator, and Torquer cast-iron heads. The frame and steering were reportedly serviced in 2019 and the fluids were changed in early 2020, with roughly 100 miles accumulated since. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a column-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission.
