Vehicle Story

This 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Sedanette was originally sold by Scott Motor Company in Reno, Nevada on September 13, 1949, and has resided in the Pacific Northwest for the majority of its life. Presented as an unmodified survivor with 42,954 miles, this Series 62 pulls power from a 331ci overhead-valve V8 coupled with a 4-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission. With an Ivory exterior dressed in extensive brightwork over a gray cloth interior, this third-generation Series 62 is now offered by the selling dealer with records, documentation, and a clear Washington title.

The Series 62 received a new body style on the C-body platform beginning in 1948, featuring new tail fins and riding on a shortened wheelbase with a wider track than the previous model. This 1949 is painted Ivory and features a fastback rear design with rear-wheel skirts and a three-piece back window. Have spent long-term ownership in the Pacific Northwest, it was one of 4,764 Series 62 Sedanette models produced for the model year. Surrounding brightwork is said to be in excellent shape including bumpers with guards, side moldings, window trim, and dual spotlights.

Steel 15” wheels with full covers are mounted to wide-whitewall tires.

The interior affords two-tone fold-forward gray cloth bench seats contrasted by black carpeting. Amenities include an analog clock at the passenger side of the dash, a heater, and a defroster. The trunk is fully carpeted and contains the spare tire.

Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 42,954 miles, which is believed to be an actual reading according to the seller

The 331ci OHV V8 was factory rated at 160 horsepower and 312 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a Hydramatic 4-speed automatic transmission.

The sale includes documentation.

@mitt – Do you have any photos of the undercarriage? Bottom of the doors? ...

There is one overall picture of undercarriage in the auction ad as well.
