1966 Ford F-250 4-Speed

This 1966 Ford F-250 has reportedly been owned by a single family since 1975 and is described as having been refurbished over the preceding years during the seller's ownership. The 352ci Ford FE V8 benefits from overhauled electrical, fuel, and cooling systems, and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Custom touches were added to the interior including sound deadening, a carpeted center console, and a Bluetooth-capable head unit with speakers throughout the cabin. Finished in resprayed two-tone blue and white over a matching leather interior, this fourth-generation F-250 is offered on a clear Missouri title in the seller’s name.

The fourth generation of the Ford F-Series was launched in 1961, and was both longer and lower than previous models. This two-wheel-drive F-250 from the last year of the fourth generation and was reportedly repainted by the seller in 2020. The brightwork is said to be in good condition throughout, including replacement front and rear bumpers and sideview mirrors. A diamond-plate Diamondback tonneau cover with tie-downs is installed over the bed, providing secure storage for a total of three toolboxes that reside in the protective-lined bed. Along with the refurbishment, the windshield and tailgate mechanism was replaced, and lighting was modernized with LED bulbs for the turn signals and brake lamps.

Aluminum American Racing 16” wheels are wrapped in 245-section Firestone Transforce HT tires. The F-Series from this generation features a “Twin I-Beam” front suspension, and the seller indicates that the pickup exhibits consistent driving dynamics and benefits from the replacement of the kingpins. The brakes, brake lines, and master cylinder are also reported to have been replaced.

The interior houses a two-tone white and blue reupholstered leather bench seat with a matching dash pad. As part of this pickup’s refurbishment, the cab was reportedly fully soundproofed, lap belts and shoulder belts were added, and the headliner and sun visors were replaced and are leather. Blue carpeting was installed in the footwells and around a custom center console with dual cup holders and a leather shift boot. A modern Bluetooth-capable stereo system from Retro Sound was wired to speakers inside the dash, and behind and underneath the seat. As shown in the photo carousel, the dash is cracked, and the steering wheel rim shows wear. The seller says the headliner comes with the car but is not installed and that the horn is inoperative.

Three dials are mounted on the corrugated instrument panel and take the form of a 100-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, the charging system, coolant temperature, and fuel level. An additional aftermarket gauge is mounted below the dash and the five-digit mechanical odometer shows 55k miles, but total chassis mileage is unknown.

The 352ci V8 was reportedly the subject of a mechanical refurbishment during the seller’s ownership and received a rebuilt carburetor and replacement parts for the belts and hoses, aluminum radiator, fan, clutch, and seals. The electrical and ignition systems received a replacement battery, spark plugs, wires, a solenoid, and coil. The fuel system was also overhauled with a replacement fuel tank, fuel line, and fuel pump. The pickup is described as mechanically sorted by the seller. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission with a low-range first gear.
