Vehicle Story

This 1971 MG Midget Mk III Roadster is reported to have undergone a body-off restoration prior to importation to the U.S. and is presented as exhibiting quality finishes throughout. The 1,275cc inline-four is linked with a 4-speed manual transmission, both of which are reported to be mechanically sound and well-sorted per the seller. Finished in white with a replacement Sonnenland retractable top over a reupholstered black vinyl interior, this Midget comes with a tonneau cover and is offered from East Moriches, New York.

The Mk III Midget launched in 1966 and received a facelift for 1970 that brought with it a recessed black grille, squared-off taillights, and other cosmetic updates. This Midget from the following year is painted white and has color-matched rocker panels with "Midget" badging. The body is reported to be straight and in rust-free condition throughout, and it is fitted with a replacement black cloth Sonnenland top with three rear plastic windows. Brightwork consists of a chrome front bumper and rear bumpers, the windshield surround, and more.

Minilite 13” wheels with chrome center caps are wrapped in Hankook tires.

Seating is upholstered in black vinyl and surrounded my matching carpeting and door panels. Items of note include a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, and wing windows. The seller says the radio is inoperative.

Instrumentation from Smiths includes a 100-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 62k miles, but total chassis mileage is unknown.

The 1,275cc BMC A-series pushrod inline-four had an output of 65 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 72 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 when new, and is described as mechanically sound by the seller. Power is transferred to the rear wheels by a 4-speed manual transmission.

The sale includes a black vinyl tonneau cover.

@Rczahralban – Is the tittle in the Owners name? ...

NY registration is in owners name. In NY the DMV dont issue titles to older model cars. The registration is transforable to the buyer of the car

@phild6969 – Sorry...I meant is the title in the sellers name? ...

Hi, i am the owner of the MG. In New York on the older vehicles they dont issue titles. The DMV issues a registration document which is what is used when transfering ownership . The registration is in my name and it is clean and lien free. The DMV would not issue the registration to me if it had any liens on it.
