Vehicle Story

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door sedan was the recipient of a custom build completed in 2013 and powered by a 350ci small-block V8 bolted to a 200-4R automatic transmission. The car was formerly on display in the Meguiar's Hanger, a member of Surf City Classics, winner of a number of awards and accolades from multiple shows and magazine features, and aired on Danchuk TV as well as Donut Media as a Derelict car. Notable features include custom bodywork and interior finish with creature comforts including heat, air conditioning, power brakes and steering, and more. Located in Huntington Beach, California, this Tri-Five Chevrolet is offered for sale after 6 years of ownership with full build documentation and a clean California title in the seller's name.

Bodywork was performed by Autobahn Auto Body in Costa Mesa prior to being top coated with Toyota's Clearwater Blue (CC: 8W1) and additional sections of white on the top and rear to complete the two-toned look. Accents are all chrome and stainless pieces from Danchuk Manufacturing including the bumpers, badges, grille and trimmings throughout.

A set of REV Classic Anthracite 5-spoke wheels come staggered 17" diameter on the front and 18" on the rear fitted with Antares Ingens A-1 radial tires while power steering and power braking control the handling characteristics.

The interior was overhauled by Orange Auto Upholstery Interiors in a two-ton Gray and white vinyl along with a 1957 Bel Air bench seat was added. Vintage Air heating and cooling, A Lokar long neck shifter, heating, and a custom painted steering column have been added.

Units from Danchuk Manufacturing were used to complete the interior finish including a painted 15" steering wheel, instrumentation cluster, trim pieces, knobs, switches, and clock. The odometer reads 32,125 while true mileage is unknown.

The engine bay is home to a 350ci small-block V8 crate engine paired with a 200-4R 4-speed automatic transmission with a 2,200-RPM stall converter and gear selection by Art Carr. The engine comes complete with an Edelbrock Performer polished aluminum intake manifold topped off by an Edelbrock 500cfm carburetor and K&N air filter. Additional components include an Edelbrock polished aluminum water pump, Marvel power steering pump, and reservoir, Sanden SD7AC compressor, Power Master 140amp alternator, Eddie Motorsports polished billet aluminum serpentine pullies, MSD Ignition, Blaster coil, and A-1 Ignition Box and Distributor. A set of 2-inch diameter long tube Hedman headers lead exhaust under the car through stainless steel piping and Magna Flow mufflers.

Additional photos of this custom Tri-Five Chevy can be found in the gallery.  The seller states the car was a former Meguiar's display car as well as being featured in magazines.
