Vehicle Story

This 2007 Ford Shelby GT features an $8,390 add-on package installed by Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas, Nevada that includes distinct front and rear fascia, lowering springs, and a cold air intake kit for the 4.6-liter V8 that is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. Originally sold in Rio Vista, California in April 2007, this Mustang has resided in California since new. Special placards both inside and out denote the car’s Carroll Shelby Mustang (CSM) serial number, and interior appointments extend to a Hurst shifter and a Shaker audio system. Finished in white with silver metallic racing stripes over a black leather interior, this fifth-generation Mustang is now offered with a clean CARFAX report, a window sticker, original floor mats, multiple sets of keys, a clear California title in the seller’s name, and more.

Slotted just beneath the venerable Mustang Shelby GT500, Shelby GT models were subject to modification at Shelby’s Las Vegas, Nevada facility direct from the Ford factory. Production numbers for this model totaled 5,651 units, with this example carrying badge number 2389. Offered in either black or white, this car's body is coated in the latter and topped off with dual silver metallic racing stripes. The S4U Appearance Package is fitted, offering unique front and rear fascia with side scoops. Additionally, the Shelby Appearance Package appoints a hood scoop with pins, a billet grille insert with Mustang badge, and Shelby badging for the trunk lid, fenders, and the aluminum door sill plates. Stainless-steel dual exhaust outlets are found at the rear, and of note, the Shelby GT package deletes the decklid spoiler.

A set of model-specific 18” five-spoke polished aluminum wheels wear low-profile tires, and the Shelby GT package affords performance front and rear dampers, front and rear sway bars, and a strut tower brace. Ride height has been reduced by about 1.5” with lowering springs, and stopping power is delivered by way of a four-wheel disc braking system connected to a traction-control system.

The interior houses black leather buckets and matching materials for the center console, door panels, dash, and carpeting, with all-weather protective floor mats installed. Amenities include power accessories, an automatic climate control system, a Shaker 500 audio system, and a Hurst short-throw shift lever. An aluminum dash plaque with CSM (Carroll Shelby Mustang) serial numbering identifies this vehicle as No. 07SGT2389.

A two-pod gauge cluster delivers information from a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and central readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows approximately 36k miles, which the seller asserts is a true reading.

The 4.6-liter V8 benefits from model-specific treatment including a 90mm cold-air intake setup, Pro-Cal performance calibration, and performance mufflers. Configured as such, Ford certifies this package as delivering 319 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque when new. An aluminum engine plaque contains the CSM serial numbering, and power is fed to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and a 3:55 rear axle.

The CARFAX report shows no history of accidents or damage but does document two manufacturer safety recalls. The first is dated May 2015 for the driver-side airbag inflator, and the second is dated January 2019 for the passenger-side airbag inflator, and it is noted that parts are readily available to remedy both. The report also shows that the car passed a California state emissions inspection in April 2021.

The following will go with the car: a custom car cover, the owner's books, the Shelby GT package sticker, multiple sets of keys, spare filters, original floor mats, and more.
