This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible offers a restored exterior with fog lamps, dual exhaust, and styled steel wheels. Power comes from a 289ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, and the reupholstered interior offers a custom-built center console and woodgrain trim. Finished in Tahoe Turquoise with a white cloth top over white vinyl seating, this second-year Mustang is now offered with documentation, a vinyl snap-on convertible boot, and a clear Ohio title in the seller’s name.
First debuting in mid-1964, the original Mustang received a few cosmetic changes in its initial model years. For 1966, the front grille received a slotted-style grille pattern and slighting different emblems. This example from that model year is painted Tahoe Turquoise (U) and was subject to a respray that is said to demonstrate good-quality finish, fitment, and straightness. The color scheme is accented by a manually retractable white cloth soft top, brightwork around the perimeter, and a dual exhaust system below the rear bumper.
The 14” styled steel wheels with Mustang-branded center caps are mounted to whitewall tires. The braking system uses disc brakes up front.
The Pony Package interior is equipped with reupholstered ivory vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels, contrasted by black lap belts and carpeting. A custom-built matching center console has been added between the front seats featuring an armrest, dual cup holders, and storage compartments. Additional amenities include a push-button radio with kick panel-mounted speakers, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and woodgrain applique on the dash face.
Instrumentation includes a centrally-mounted 140-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 4k miles, which is believed to be 104k per the seller. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 289ci Windsor V8 is mounted within a matte-black engine bay and dressed with blue valve covers and a chrome-finished air cleaner. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and a T-handle floor-mounted shift lever. According to the trim tag, the vehicle has a 3.20:1 standard differential.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The sale includes some factory-issued documentation and a convertible boot.

Thanks for the question. It’s kind of difficult to answer. To me the paint is flawless. It’s been repainted since I’ve had it with a reputable shop, shines, looks great, etc. However I’ve never put it in a car show and it’s never been judged by a professional. I’ve always used it as a cruiser. Please let me know if you want further pics.
@JohnMustang – Yeah, it’s actually not easy to see because the leather it was made out of matches the seats really well but the cup holder armrest thing is an add on. It fits right over the shifter and can be pulled out as well. Let me know if you want any further pics. Thanks. ...
Respectfully - pictures not numbered...but using line 9 of the 2 picture display - where interior ones really start...I can't see any of what you mention. So great job!
