Vehicle Story

This 1968 Chevrolet C10 stepside short bed pickup was purchased by the seller two years ago and has been driven approximately 500 miles since. Powered by a modified 396ci big block mated to a TH-400 automatic transmission, the truck is equipped with four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, custom interior, heater and AM/FM radio with custom speakers. The seller reports that the truck was last serviced 4 months ago and now offered for sale in Franklin, Indiana with a clean title.

Finished in a complete respray of gold paint, the truck's exterior features a stepside bed with rounded fender flares, dual exhaust exits at the rear through chrome tips, and a wood bed holding the fuel cell. The seller reports the body originally came from New Mexico and will likely need to have the doors aligned to fit the property.

Dished chrome Rallye-style wheels are fitted with Cooper tires and handled by way of four-wheel power disc brakes with refreshed stainless steel lines and power steering.

The interior is completed with tan leather upholstery over bench seating which is complemented by black carpeting and body matching door and dash panels with stainless door handle and manual window cranks hardware. Equipment includes heat and AM/FM radio with custom speakers and enclosures in the kick panels.

An aftermarket 3-spoke woodgrain steering wheel frames custom instrumentation which features dials for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure and engine temperature as well as a 160-MPH speedometer and 10k-RPM tachometer. Actual mileage on the truck is unknown, however, 5,779 miles are shown on the non-factory odometer in photos.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels by a big block 396ci V8 mated to a newer TH400 automatic transmission. The truck was said to have come with a 396ci V8 originally before being replaced with the current plant which has been described as highly modified. The seller notes a small rear main seal leak on the motor and the truck was last serviced around 4 months ago.

A complete dual exhaust system and 4.11:1 geared Moser rear end can be found on the underside.
