This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was the recipient of a frame-off restoration in 2015 consisting of a repaint in Burgundy Metallic and the addition of interior enhancements such as a Vintage Air A/C system, replacement gauges, and more. Power is delivered from a replacement Turbo Fire 350ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller has owned the vehicle for five years and is including restoration documentation with the sale. Trimmed by a black vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered with the aforementioned documentation and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
First launching in 1968, the third-generation Corvette came based upon a concept called the Mako Shark II and in 1969, small cosmetic updates were incorporated to the design theme including the addition of the Stingray nameplate, revision to the door handles, repositioning of the back-up lights, and a new all-black treatment for the grille. This example is finished in Burgundy Metallic and was the recipient of a frame-off restoration in 2015. The body retains brightwork for the bumpers, as well as pop-up quad headlights, removable T-tops, vented front fenders, and dual polished exhausts at the rear. The seller notes that there is a vacuum-related issue with the windshield wiper door.
Factory 15” Rally wheels with polished trim rings and center caps are wrapped in two-year-old Goodyear Eagle II raised-white-letter tires. Handling is aided by power steering and a four-wheel disc braking system, and the suspension is fully independent.
The interior has seating for two, trimmed in black vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels, center console, dash, and carpeting with embroidered floor mats. Upgrades added as part of the 2015 restoration include a Vintage Air A/C system and a newer radio with a digital readout.
Instrumentation is delivered via factory-equipped round displays for the 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. In addition, auxiliary aftermarket instruments were installed in the center stack including an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 74k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The replacement Turbo Fire 350ci V8 was installed in 2014 and received an oil change, tune-up, and coolant flush in June 2021. Power for this engine carried a factory rating of 300 horsepower with 380 lb-ft of torque, and the engine bay benefits from a fully detailed aesthetic with a matte-black finish, red valve covers, and chrome-finished air cleaner with Turbo Fire decals. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
The sale includes documentation from the restoration and service records from current ownership.
