Vehicle Story

This 1972 Ford LTD Country Squire is a largely original station wagon with a build sheet, sales materials, and other supporting documentation that retains its original 400ci V8 paired with a C6 3-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes woodgrain exterior trim, dual rear fold-down jump seats, and air conditioning. Finished in Bright Green Gold Metallic over a Medium Green leather interior, this second-generation LTD Country Squire is now offered with maintenance records, sales brochures, a build sheet, an owner’s manual, and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.

Going into the 1972 model year, Ford’s full-size LTD models received revisions to both bumpers and other enhancements. This Country Squire station wagon retains its original Bright Green Gold Metallic (4B) paint with woodgrain accents on the side panels and the tailgate. Finishes are described as being in good condition. Exterior design is accentuated by quad headlamps, bright window trim with visors, and a roof rack.

Steel 15” wheels with turbine-style hubcaps and polished caps are wrapped in newer Hankook Optimo whitewall tires. Handling is assisted by power steering and power disc brakes up front.

The interior is fitted with original Medium Green (FR) leather power-operated split-bench upholstery up front, color-matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Seating surfaces are shown to have some cracking and wear as shown in the photo gallery, and the interior is accented by woodgrain trim for the dash and the door panels. Plaid floor coverings have been fitted in the footwells and in the cargo area, and the green headliner in good condition. The rear cargo area has dual inward-facing fold-down jump seats and storage compartments, and additional amenities include cold air conditioning and a push-button radio.

Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel gauge. A compass is attached at the headliner between the sun visors. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 2k miles, which the seller asserts is 102k actual miles.

The 400ci V8 resides in a matte black engine bay and is fed by a two-barrel carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a C6 3-speed automatic transmission and a column-mounted shift lever.

The sale includes documentation, receipts, an owner’s manual, and a build sheet. The seller has provided walkaround videos.

@Bigschwag – Nice wagon but seats are not original. Leather and power seats were not available on this model and material pattern doesn't match. They are from a later model. ...

Awesome station wagon. Is the plaid carpet and overlay over the original or is it “installed”?
