Vehicle Story

This 1966 Ford F-100 2WD pickup has a diamond-stitched two-tone vinyl interior with a period-correct eight-track audio system, under-dash LED lighting and replacement carpeting. The 352ci V8 is dressed with chrome-finished valve covers and paired with a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission. The seller has owned the vehicle for 13 years and describes the body as being rust-free, wearing a tonneau cover over the bed, and gaining traction via Cooper Discover tires. Finished in two-tone blue with a white top over a two-tone blue and white interior, this fourth-generation F-Series F-100 is now offered in Ramona, California with a clear Idaho title in the seller’s name.

The Ford F-Series moved into its fourth generation beginning in 1961 with revised styling and wider dimensions when compared to its predecessor. In 1964, the chassis received a new frame, and in 1965 the turn signals were relocated to a new position above the headlights. This F-100 from the final year of its generation was subject to a full repaint in blue in 2015 under the seller’s ownership. The brightwork for the front bumper, grille, mirrors, handles, and badging is noted to be in good condition. The exterior features a one-piece rear window, a black vinyl tonneau cover, and a tow hitch at the rear. The seller notes that there is surface rust on the rear bumper.

White-painted steel wheels with chrome center caps are wrapped in Cooper Discover Radial AST raised-white-letter tires that were replaced in June 2021. The front suspension consists of a Twin I-Beam suspension with coil springs.

The interior is fitted with a reupholstered two-tone diamond-stitched blue and white vinyl bench seat, with similar materials used for the door panels, headliner, and a two-tone dash. The replacement carpeting is black, and under-dash LED lighting has been added. Audio equipment includes a push-button radio installed in the dash, and an eight-track stereo player mounted beneath.

Instrumentation is comprised of a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 86k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The 352ci FE V8 was rated at 208 horsepower and features chrome-finished valve covers. A service was performed in June 2021, and power is directed to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission.

Can you upload a video of a cold start of the engine? Also, would love to get a sense of the integrity of the body. After the body work, how's the body looking. everything feel solid? And, what's the mileage on actual, current engine? Is it the original engine? How's the shifting on the transmission?
