Vehicle Story

This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS is finished in newer Crocus Yellow paint over the original black vinyl interior and is powered by its rebuilt original 327ci V8 paired with a rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission. With the exception of the transmission, it is reportedly 100 percent original. Equipment includes power steering, power windows, power brakes, and a tilt steering wheel. Showing 93K miles on the odometer, this Impala is located in California and offered with uninstalled original fender skirts and a clear title in the owner's name.

The fourth-generation Impala was based on the General Motors B-body platform and featured an angled windshield, frameless side glass, and reshaped vent windows. This two-door example was repainted two years ago in factory-correct Crocus Yellow paint. Brightwork includes the bumpers and door handles as well as the badges on the hood, front fenders, and trunk lid. A pair of exhaust finishers are visible under the rear bumper.

The car's wheels are wrapped in whitewall tires that are in reportedly near-new condition.

The original black vinyl interior is fitted with bucket seating separated by a center console up front, matching door panels, a padded dash, and black carpeting with Impala-branded floor mats. Amenities include power windows, a rebuilt air conditioning system, a tilt steering wheel, and the original trunk liner. The factory radio has been replaced with a professionally installed aftermarket sound system that reportedly cost $4,800 wired to new speakers in the factory locations and 15-inch woofers housed in a custom box in the trunk. According to the seller, the power window motors for one front and one rear window are weak, causing the two windows to close slowly.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a manifold vacuum readout, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amps. The five-digit odometer reads under 93K miles, though true mileage is unknown.

The 327ci V8 is reportedly original to the car and has accrued less than 5,000 miles since being rebuilt. It sends its power to the rear wheels through an aftermarket 4-speed automatic transmission.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

A pair of uninstalled original fender skirts are included as part of the sale. Walk-around and start-up videos are provided below.
