This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300 SD four-door sedan has been driven fewer than 100,000 miles since new and has been owned by the same family since 1985. It draws power from a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-5 paired with a newer 4-speed automatic transmission. It spent time in California and in the Pacific Northwest before being relocated to Texas in 2017 where it remains today. Features include anti-lock brakes, power convenience options, woodgrain interior trim, and automatic climate control. Finished in Champagne Metallic over a tan MB-Tex interior, this W126 300 SD is now offered with an extra set of uninstalled factory wheels, service documentation, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Texas title in the seller’s name.
The W126 model was launched in the late 1970s. This 300 SD from 1985 is finished in Champagne Metallic and features dark lower body cladding, integrated yellow fog lamps, a chrome grille, black door handles, chrome window surrounds, and Turbo Diesel badging at the rear.
The split five-spoke aftermarket wheels are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering. An uninstalled factory set of chrome wheels will be included with the sale.
The interior is fitted with tan power-adjustable MB-Tex bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, center console, lower dash, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Features include woodgrain accents, cruise control, automatic climate control, tinted power windows, power door locks, and a net pocket behind each front seat.
Instrumentation includes a 125-mph speedometer, 6K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 95K miles, which is supported by the CARFAX report.
The 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-5 was rated at 119 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was performed in December of 2021 and the CARFAX report shows consistent dealership maintenance in Lynwood, Washington from 2009 through 2017, including oil changes, a fuel system check, and the replacement of the valve cover gasket. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission that was replaced in 2013.
The 300 SD came from the factory with anti-lock disc brakes.
The CARFAX report shows a vehicle history that is free of accidents or damage, with the first record appearing in California in 1999. The vehicle passed a Texas safety inspection in August of 2021. The sale includes service documentation and a set of uninstalled chrome wheels.
