This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in two-tone with Venetian Red over white coves with a red vinyl interior. It is powered by a 283/245 horsepower V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller acquired the vehicle in 2017 and commissioned a mechanical and cosmetic restoration. Since completion, the car has been shown at several events, earning NCRS National Second Flight Honors and 2nd place overall at the inaugural Las Vegas Concours in 2019. Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, this Corvette is now offered for sale on a clean Nevada title in the sellers name.
Finished in Venetian red with white coves, the car was body was taken down to fiberglass before being resprayed in the factory color combination. The wrap-around chrome bumpers, grille shell & teeth, and other chrome pieces were replated and the curved windshield is in good condition with no pitting or chips. Single, rounded headlights are featured on the front of the car while the taillight pockets are recessed into the top of the quarter panels. Chrome Bumperettes are mounted on the rear on each side with openings for the exhaust tips.
Factory 15” steel wheels are finished in red with original style polished hubcaps. The wheels are mounted to 6.70-15 bias belt wide-whitewall Firestone tires on all four corners. The car retains the factory suspension with new shocks recently installed and braking is handled by manual drums.
The interior is finished in red throughout, featuring vinyl bucket seats, matching carpeting, door panels, and dash, all of which were replaced during the restoration. All seals and rubber are new, as are the clock, heater box and door locks. The car retains the original three-spoke steering wheel with Corvette flag insignia chrome center and red perimeter. The shifter for the 4-speed transmission is mounted on the transmission tunnel.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, as well as a 6k-rpm tachometer and accompanying gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure in the lower portion of the dash. The five-digit odometer reads 92k miles.
The 283ci V8 is original to the car and rated at 245 horsepower, factory equipped with dual four-barrel carburetors and aluminum intake manifold. The engine bay retains all the correct components like finned valve covers, chrome air cleaners, and cast iron exhaust manifolds. During the restoration, all the seals were replaced while recent maintenance includes a change of the rear differential oil & transmission fluid, and full chassis lubrication. Additional work performed includes a brake fluid flush, and new axle bearings, both within the past month. A 4-speed manual transmission transfers power to the rear wheels.
The underside of the car was fully cleaned and restored as part of the restoration. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes all reciepts and invoices from the restoration, as well as the awards books, manuals, service records, and the original yellow California license plates.
@jamesdiiorio – Sorry I didn’t see this post earlier. Yes there is a reserve on the car while I won’t discuss the amount of the reserve I can assure you it’s fair and not excessive . I can be reached at [email protected] or 213-305-1593 if you have any specific questions about the car . Thank you James ...
Contact me if you’re still interested in the car? Noticed you haven’t bid in awhile Thanks 213-305-1593 [email protected]
