OVERVIEW
This 1953 Ford Ranch Wagon has been with the seller for 15 years and was put through a restoration process completed two years ago that involved the installation of new audio, fuel system, exhaust, and other hardware. It is powered by a 302ci Ford V8 engine backed by a C4 automatic transmission. Features include a chopped top; handmade custom wood exterior trim; power windows, steering, and brakes; and a digital AM/FM/CD stereo. This metallic maroon Ranch Wagon with mahogany wood trim and a tan vinyl interior is available now and comes with a clear Montana title in the late owner's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior was refinished in metallic maroon two years ago and features chrome bumpers, a custom chrome grille, frenched headlights, a shaved hood with rounded hood corners, a fender-mounted antenna, and dual mirrors. Additional features include handmade ash wood trim with mahogany veneer inserts, a black vinyl top, single-pane quarter windows, a shaved fuel filler, molded rear wheel skirts, a 1.5-inch roof chop, dual taillights, and a hidden fuel filler in the left taillight. The seller states there is a dent on the hood and a chip in the wood near a door frame.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of chrome wire wheels is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply-look radial tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bench seat, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in tan vinyl. Interior features include brown carpeting; a tan headliner; power windows, steering, and brakes; a Lokar floor-mounted automatic shifter; a metallic maroon steel dashboard; and an AM/FM/CD stereo.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 90-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 63,977 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 302ci Ford V8 engine and backed by a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include power steering, power brakes, chrome valve covers, a chrome air cleaner, a carburetor, and electronic ignition. The seller states that an oil and fluids change was completed 2.5 years ago.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis has been upgraded with a Fatman front clip with an independent suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A new fuel tank and electric fuel pump, new mufflers, and a new dual-exhaust system were installed during the restoration. Braking is provided by power front disc brakes and rear drums.

There is room in the engine compartment for the compressor. The interior should have enough room for an underdash unit, but not behind the dash.

@Montana33 – The rear wheel wells are tubbed. This is visible in the interior photos. This allows the top of the wjeel to be tipped inward and removed as normal. ...
Thanks

@pethoward – A few questions for seller: 1-where did engine originate and its age/miles, 2-c-4 transmission same question, 3-what if any upgrades to frame were made (really additional structural support as these wagons did some later years sagging), 4-more about the suspension and its attributes. I've had my share of 50's upgraded suspensions only to find they were not up to the modern road's needs, 5-broad question, I know but....what needs to be done immediately to make it capable of 100-200 mile trip? 6-finally overheating issues in warmer weather? thank you for your anticipated answers. ...
The engine was bored 40 over, added a mild cam, better rockers, completely gone thru by a professional mechanic. Trans had seals replaced. A Fatman front clip was added with coil overs and disc brakes. No sagging noted. No problems noted on a 60 mile drive. New aluminum radiator working well.
