OVERVIEW
This 1967 Ford Mustang fastback was custom-built by G-Tech Engineering of Greenville, Michigan as a replica of Eleanor, the hero car from the 2000 remake of the film “Gone in 60 Seconds." It received upgrades to the drivetrain, suspension, interior, and body, including a ProCharger-supercharged 4.6-liter V8, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes Hydroboost Wilwood disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, 17-inch American Racing wheels, and side-exit exhaust outlets. Finished in silver with black striping over a black leather interior, this Mustang is now offered with service records and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
A nut-and-bolt restoration of the silver exterior by G-Tech Engineering incorporated black stripes, color-keyed front and rear bumpers, chrome headlight rings, driving lights, hood retention pins, painted GT500 rocker stripes, side-exit exhaust outlets, dual mirrors, fiberglass quarter window scoops, a recessed fuel cap, sequential LED taillights, a flush fiberglass rear bumper, an electric antenna, and a mini-tubbed rear end to accommodate wider tires. The seller notes that there are a couple of stone chips on the front bumper that have been touched up.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Shelby-type 17-inch American Racing aluminum wheels with knock-off caps are wrapped in new 245/40 front and 315/35 rear Z-rated Nitto tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is furnished with black perforated leather bucket front seats that were sourced from a 2007 Mustang, a rear bench, and similarly colored materials for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include custom floor and upper consoles, embroidered front seatbacks, three-point seat belts, a roll bar, a push-start ignition, air conditioning, a Cobra-style tilt-adjustable wooden steering wheel, a battery shutoff, fully adjustable coil over (installed recently), and an Eclipse AM/FM/CD audio system with four Infinity speakers. The trunk lid is held up by billet hinges and covers a carpeted storage area.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The AutoMeter white-faced instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 10,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 2,948 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The double-overhead-cam 4.6-liter V8 has been upgraded with a ProCharger supercharger, a custom intake manifold, mass-flow fuel injection, a ceramic-coated exhaust system, and a stainless steel fuel tank. An oil change was performed earlier this year. The engine bay has been dressed in chrome; the hoses, wiring, and air conditioning lines are tucked inside the fenders. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Front underpinnings consist of a Heidts tubular suspension with a one-inch sway bar and power rack-and-pinion steering. The rear end has been mini-tubbed 2.5 inches on each side and comes equipped with a Heidts independent setup with a nine-inch center section and inboard brakes. Stopping power comes from an electric Hydroboost brake system and 12.5-inch discs with red Wilwood calipers. Jacking points and tie-down provisions have been added to the underbody.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller has provided a 10-minute video from 2016 that documents the build process and specifications. Service records will accompany the car.
