OVERVIEW
This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was originally issued to Leo Hoffman Chevrolet in La Puente, California and has reportedly remained in California and Arizona. It is accompanied by a color-matched removable hardtop and receives power from a numbers-matching L79 327ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power brakes, power steering, a radio, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Finished in black over a newer black vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered with an uninstalled new soft top, owner's manuals, service records, documentation, and a clear Arizona title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body and removable hardtop were repainted black in 2019; the trim tag shows an original paint code of British Green (983). Features include pop-up headlights, chrome bumpers, vented fenders, flush-mounted door handles, rocker moldings, a driver-side mirror, an antenna, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 15-inch wheels with turbine-style covers are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly newer two-seat interior is fitted with black vinyl buckets, which are coordinated with the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include a center console, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a push-button radio, and power windows.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 55,480 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The numbers-matching L79 327ci V8 was rated at 350 horsepower. Service per the maintenance records includes a coolant change in 2015 and work on the ignition system in 2013. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The steering and braking systems are power-assisted. The front and rear brake pads and the rear driver-side caliper were changed in 2015.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes an uninstalled new soft top, owner's manuals, service records, and documentation.

The new speedo cable was replaced shortly after it was diagnosed with the issue. Miles are correct. Thank you for the bid today. If bids continue to come in within the next few hours, I will drop the reserve.
I see from one of the repair invoices that the car needed a speedometer cable. Does that suggest mileage is not accurate?

Good morning fellow Corvette aficionados. Thanks again for the continued bids on this very special car. With a little more than 9 hours remaining, should be an exciting finish to the auction. Please let me know if there are additional questions I can answer during the day. I cannot stress enough how well this matching numbers 327-350 horse runs down the road.- true, straight, with plenty of power. With a little over 55,000 original miles it performs at it should and shifts with ease through all gears. Paint, bodywork, and interior is exceptional. Best of luck bidding- I hope we hit the reserve - next owner will be pleased.
