Vehicle Story

This 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova is finished in red over a two-tone red and white vinyl interior and is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission.  The car has been professionally restored with performance upgrades, including a Flowmaster exhaust system, rack & pinion steering, upgraded modern stereo system, traction bars, and Edelbrock carburetors.  Located in Scott, Louisiana, this Chevy II Nova is now offered on a clean Louisiana title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in red and was professionally restored under prior ownership. A raised cowl hood was installed, with no other modifications made to the body. All chrome and trim are in good condition, with no indications of pitting or peeling. Nova SS badging is found throughout the car, and a dual exhaust with polished tips exits beneath the rear bumper.

Aftermarket 15” 5-spoke American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are mounted to BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires on all four corners.  The car is equipped with disc brakes all around, and the suspension has been upgraded with traction bars.

The interior is fitted with red carpeting and floor mats along with white vinyl bucket seats.  The dash is painted in red to match the exterior and has a Nova SS emblem on the lockable glove compartment. A vintage look head unit is housed in the dash with a 10-disc remote CD changer in the trunk. Additional features include air conditioning and a B&M T-handle shifter.

Instrumentation is framed by an aftermarket billet 4-spoke steering wheel and includes a modern gauge cluster with a 160-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and other auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level.  A digital odometer is equipped with true mileage unknown.

The 400ci small-block V8 is equipped with dual 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetors, as well as headers and an MSD ignition system.  The motor resides in a fully detailed engine bay with polished billet accessories.  An electric fuel pump was added, and the exhaust header gaskets were also replaced, along with an air conditioning hose.  The electrical system was rewired in summer 2020.  Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 automatic transmission.

Additional underside photos can be seen in the gallery.

The sale includes documentation from the restoration process as well as various awards from local events.

The picture that shows the rack n pinion steering and what I imagine is the tranny cooler has a what looks to be in the background the oil pan painted red. It looks pretty low to the ground. Is that the oil pan and how far is it off the ground?

@0to60n3 – Toddl, what does the odometer show ? I'm guessing during the build it was set to zero ( as its electronic ) so mileage when you purchase it and what you have put on it? Thanks. ...

Instrument cluster was replaced in 2015 and mileage to date is 244. Low mileage is due to trailering the car to shows. Thanks

@Ehubba – Very impressive! You mentioned the wiring was re-done in 2020 - a new wiring harness? Why was that done? If it is a new wiring harness - painless? Stock? How much time do you have on the engine and trans? Both new at installation? I assume the trans is not electronic- correct? The rear end- what gears? [REDACTED]. ...

Ehubba, the fan motors were rewired due to the auxiliary fan not coming on. The engine and transmission were already in the car when I purchased it. No, transmission is not electronic and not sure gear ratio. Thanks!
