Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe underwent a restoration completed in 2019 that included including new wiring, a new interior, a lowered Detroit Speed suspension, and power Wilwood disc brakes. It is powered by a Chevrolet Performance ZZ502 502cid big-block V8 crate engine backed by a TREMEC T56 six-speed manual transmission. Features include a cowl-induction hood, a rear spoiler, and Holley Sniper fuel injection. Finished in Bright Red with white accent stripes over a black vinyl interior, this Camaro comes with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This Camaro was originally finished in Azure Turquoise and Dover White (code 55-50). In 2014, the reportedly rust-free body was refinished in Bright Red with white accent stripes. Features include new lighting, a new grille, new badges, new hood pins, a cowl-induction hood, dual rearview mirrors, wheel opening moldings, a rear spoiler, and a rear-mounted battery cut-off switch.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 18” x 8” front and 18” x 9.5” rear Billet Specialties polished aluminum wheels is wrapped in 235/40 and 275/40 Nitto NT555 radial tires, respectively.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

Originally equipped with an Ivory and Black vinyl interior (code 727), this Camaro has been furnished with new components that include the black vinyl seats, door panels, door handles, dash, center console, and carpeting, according to the seller. Features include manual windows, a three-spoke aluminum steering wheel with a black grip, a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system monitor, and Dynamat sound-damping material. According to the seller, the driver-side door glass needs to be adjusted to the door seal and the rear quarter windows need new regulators.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of AutoMeter instruments that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 10,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and fuel pressure are located ahead of the driver. The seller states that the fuel pressure gauge does not work because it is not a high-pressure unit required by the fuel injection system. Additionally, the speedometer needs to be calibrated. The digital odometer reads 2,756 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a Chevrolet Performance ZZ502 502cid big-block V8 crate engine and backed by a TREMEC T56 six-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include aluminum heads, cast aluminum valve covers, Chevrolet Performance roller rockers, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, an aluminum air cleaner housing, new aluminum hood hinges, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, tube exhaust headers, and a chrome brake master cylinder and booster.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Camaro is equipped with an independent front suspension with tubular control arms, an aluminum driveshaft, and a Currie Enterprises nine-inch solid rear drive axle with 3.89:1 gears. The seller states that the Detroit Speed suspension has been lowered two inches. Braking is provided by Wilwood power disc brakes. A three-inch dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

@Jefft – How long have you owned the car? Any knowledge of metal (quarters, fenders, door skins, floors, etc.) replacement on the car? A few pic's show the steering wheel in a turned position, were the wheels turned as well or is the steering wheel not positioned properly? Is the car located in Rockdale and will it handle a 2 hour cruise? Nice car, thank you for your reply's . ...

I've owned the car for about fifteen years now and did all the work minus paint. Professionally built by my shop. The body is 100% metal repair. Lower door skins and rear lower quarter panels repaired in the typical places for water collection. Couple of small floor pans spots if I remember right. Very solid body with no cracks, flaking, etc. Hood stripes are painted in too. Steering wheel is straight I just moved it to get a better angle of the odometer. **** I have never taken it on that long of a drive. Mostly car show distances, cruising, etc. That being said it cruises awesome with the six speed. Easy 75-80 @ 2,220 -ish rpm on the toll roads. Very strong/ straight pulling car too.
