This 1991 BMW 850i is a well-documented and highly-optioned example that comes with MSD ignition components, a performance chip, custom exhaust work, and a refurbished driveshaft. It is powered by a 5.0-liter V12 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle was originally invoiced to Shelly BMW in Buena Park, California, and is finished in Calypso Red Pearl over a Parchment leather interior. This 850i has been with the seller for approximately six years and is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Kansas title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Calypso Red Pearl (252) with black accents and factory aero treatment, including slim kidney grilles with pop-up headlamps and quad polished exhausted outlets. Pre-existing bumper rash and various scratches in the paint have been professionally repaired.
Aftermarket 17” BBS Bugatti chrome wheels with BMW center caps are wrapped in newer 245/45 Yokohama YK 580 tires, and handling is managed by an anti-lock brake system and power steering.
The interior is fitted with power-adjustable Parchment leather bucket seats, a matching center armrest with integrated storage, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cruise control, an onboard computer with multi-function information display, the factory 12-speakerAM/FM/CD/cassette sound system, and an integrated rear-window antenna. The toolkit is accounted for, and the factory cellular phone is included with the sale.
Instrumentation is framed by a leather-wrapped, power-adjustable steering wheel and consists of a 190-mph speedometer, 7k tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The 6-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 87k miles. The seller reports that the mileage is accurate, and the gauge cluster is free of dead pixels.
The M70 5.0-liter V12 is original to the vehicle and was factory-rated at 296 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque when new. An estimated performance increase of 30-40 horsepower comes as a result of a WOKKE chip set, and additional upgrades include MSD ignition coils and a new distributor, rotor, and plugs. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. The ECM has newly installed capacitors, and the driveshaft has a new center bearing and CV joints.
Stance and stability come from an independent front suspension with MacPherson struts and a multi-link rear suspension with gas shock absorbers, and a rear muffler delete was performed. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes a factory window sticker showing the original MSRP of $76,100 when new, as well as all accompanying books, manuals, and the factory cellular phone.

The BMW 859i is such a cool car. Has the front end looks of the M1, a V12 engine that sounds amazing, combined with an interior that at the time was the best BMW offered on any car. A great GT car that is just coming into its own as a collector car.

The cats are still on the car. I do have the original chips that may be reinstalled. Thanks for asking David
I assume the cats are still on the car? I'm in Cali and needs to pass CA smog. Does seller still have original ECU?
