This 1974 Volkswagen Beetle “Sun Bug” cabriolet is one of 300 sold in North America for the model year and is a 47k-mile, original car. Equipment includes a factory radio, heater, and woodgrain dash trim. It is powered by a 1,600cc flat-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle and finished in Harvest Gold Metallic over a brown vinyl interior. This Beetle was with the previous owner for nearly 20 years before being acquired by the seller as the third owner and is offered with a clear Florida title in his name.
This body is finished in Harvest Gold Metallic (L99B), unique to the Sun Bug edition and reported to be original, and it sports a black convertible top. Photos show the paint condition and a single hole in the top that has been covered with tape. The seller states that there is no visible rust.
Factory 15” steel wheels are wrapped in near-new 165/80 tires, and the brakes were recently replaced.
The original interior is trimmed in brown vinyl with matching door panels and features a full carpet kit, a 4-spoke steering wheel, elastic map pockets, and a model-specific shift knob. The black dash is accented by woodgrain applique, and the functional factory radio is present.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The seller reports that the mileage shown on the 5-digit mechanical odometer is accurate, though this cannot be verified.
The rear-mounted 1,600cc flat-4 has a single carburetor and was factory-rated at 46-hp and 72 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transaxle with a floor-mounted shift lever.
Ziebart coating was applied to the underside at the factory per the seller. Additional photos showing the condition of the undercarriage are available in the gallery.

@SpeedingBULLITT – Hi..I can not find the gallery to see the additional photos....does the car have any rust on it? Undercarriage is my primary concern, as the body looks quite straight and it sounds like a beetle should..unless it’s from Liverpool, of course! 😂 May I call you and talk about it more..or you call me? My # is 602-290-4799. If I don’t answer and you get my goofy message, ADDRESSED TO ALL THE GHOST/ROBO CALLS, please leave a message and I’ll get back shortly! Thanks, Al ...
I'm not sure what you mean about finding the gallery. Are you saying that you do not see the photos? The car does not have rust and the undercarriage is great due to the original owner having it heavily undercoated. As far as a drive to AZ, the only thing I can tell you is that she really runs and drives great and I personally would not be afraid to drive her anywhere. Side note, old cars are old cars.
PS!! Also, do you think it in good enough shape to DRIVE back to Arizona?
