This 37k-mile 1973 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4x4 Scottsdale is the recipient of an older body-off repaint and a newly-upholstered interior and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is being offered as a 90% completed restoration, having received extensive interior and exterior work but needing final touches to finish. Finished in Copper Brown Metallic over a plaid and saddle interior, this Blazer is offered with a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.
Copper Brown Metallic (1E) respray was professionally applied in 1991 after installing NOS metal panels. The removable hardtop is finished in matte brown, and the seller reports that the windshield and weather stripping was replaced as part of the restoration.
Factory 15” steel wheels with chrome trim rings are wrapped in 33” General Grabber AT tires with 2014 date codes. The shocks and steering stabilizer have been replaced, the driveshafts are balanced, and handling is managed by factory variable-ratio power steering.
A Cheyenne interior is fitted with new plaid saddle vinyl and tan carpet, a folding center console with an ashtray and storage compartment, and dash aluminum trim. A SPID within the glove compartment illustrates factory specifications, and the seller notes that the heater blower ventilation still needs to be installed.
Instrumentation includes a new factory gauge cluster with a 100-mph speedometer, a 5k tachometer, and readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage, all of which need to be connected. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 37k miles, which are believed true to the vehicle but not able to be verified.
The 350ci V8 has undergone a tune-up with a new Edelbrock carburetor, and it sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a 4-speed SM465 manual transmission with "creeper" gear and a rebuilt 2-speed transfer case with 3.73:1 gears and rebuilt manual-locking Warn front hubs. The seller adds that the truck needs a new wiring harness for the lights, gauges, and horn.
The master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders have been replaced, the front brake calipers were remanufactured, and the brake fluid has been flushed recently. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes a factory roll bar and spare parts. The factory Service Parts Identification sticker is retained
