Comments & Questions

To try to answer any questions beforehand and tell the story of the car as I know it, this is my description based on my observations and the information provided to me by the long time collector previous owner of the car: Absolutely incredible and extremely original 55K ORIGINAL MILE 1962 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe with a numbers matching 409 V8 with "Dual Quads" 2 4 barrel carburetors and factory original 4spd manual transmission. This car has an absolutely amazing history and was originally a California car with the original CA black plates and many years of registrations included. The car has a completely original accident free body and has never had any rust or rust repairs, even deep in the usual places and rear lower panels. The car is incredibly original with only a show quality repaint including removal and polishing of all brightwork. The interior is still all original and looks amazing with minimal if any signs of age or wear. The car has some very nice modifications to make it more fun to drive and turn key reliable, however nearly every factory original part comes with the car, down to the original tail light lenses (it has GM restoration official replacement lenses), water pump, wheel covers, etc. The car has upgraded Edelbrock aluminum heads, intake manifold, dual 4bbl carbs, and coated headers all mounted on the original numbers matching rebuilt engine block. The original heads, exhaust manifolds, carburetors, valve covers, push rods, rockers, head bolts, etc are included with the sale. The car does have a full custom exhaust system with electric cut-outs to go from mild to wild at the touch of a hidden switch. The car does have factory power steering and upgraded dual master cylinder for the brake system. The radio delete plate is currently in the dash but an original radio is included. The rear shocks have been upgraded to air shocks with a hidden valve to adjust the ride attitude as desired. The brightwork is all super clean with minimal patina on some chrome details and the bumpers have been re-chromed to show condition. All lights, gages, locks, vents, etc are in working condition. The car runs and drives absolutely AMAZING with no drivability issues and the brakes are strong and stop straight. If you are looking for the ultimate original pedigree 409 Impala 4spd Coupe, this is probably the most amazing well preserved example that has been offered for sale in many years, possibly longer. Truly the ultimate collector example for the most discerning buyer looking for the very best of the best.

@BillBarr – ...waiting for a response about the paint, re-paint, colors, etc. Thank you. ...

To my knowledge the car was always all white and I have no knowledge of the car being changed in color. The writer from AutoHunter put in the color change info which I have no reason to believe is accurate. The previous owner has the car professionally repainted when he did the mild restoration of the car and it was all white just as it shows now. I see no evidence of any silver color on the car anywhere, underneath, inside jambs, gaps, etc.

@BillBarr – Has the whole car been repainted? When? RE the original two-tone paint, what part of the car was the Silver color? The roof? Or lower body? ...

The car was repainted by the previous owner who traded the car to us here on a pair of classic Corvettes. The paint is show quality just as it appears in the photos.

@rhkjp – What is the red light showing just to the right of the odometer? Thanks ...

The car has a parking brake warning indicator that is working properly and is illuminated because the parking brake was applied while the photos were taken.

Does the car have the M20 or M21/M22 transmission? Or something else as the rear end ratio's don't figure. Thanks
