Vehicle Story

This 1972 Chevrolet Vega was the recipient of a professionally engineered racing build and is offered for sale from Battle Creek, Michigan complete with NHRA certification. Power is delivered by a 385ci V8 paired with a 2-speed Rosslin Powerglide and 12-bolt rear end with 4.56:1 gearing. Features consist of fiberglass body panels, internal roll cage, rear spoiler, wheelie bars, and parachute, as well as new wiring, fuel system, brakes, and dual batteries. This race-ready Vega is now offered with a clear Michigan title in the seller's name.

Finished in gray with yellow, purple, and black striping, the car's exterior is fitted with fiberglass body panels, Lexan windows, wheelie bars, custom rear spoiler, parachute, and dual side-exit exhaust.

The car is lowered by way of S-10 drop spindles and rides on a set of chrome wheels fitted with staggered racing slicks. All new drum brakes are equipped along with new brake lines and fuel lines to the trunk-mounted fuel cell.

The interior is stripped to save weight and comes race-ready with a full roll cage and fire suppression system. All new wiring has been fitted along with all new custom gauges, dual batteries, shut-off/drive ports, and a transmission brake setup.

Custom sheet metal work is used throughout the interior, including the dash panel and tubbed rear wheel wells. Fire suppression and harness straps can be found on the harness bar.

Power is provided by a Chevrolet small-block 385ci V8 built from a 4-bolt main, zero-deck 350ci block with a honed 4.04" bore, AFR heads, a Callies crankshaft, H-beam rods, solid roller cam, SFI flywheel, and 7A13 MSD Ignition. The engine is equipped for an 8" or 10" converter to help shift the 2-speed Rosslin Powerglide automatic transmission and put power to the ground by way of GM's 12-bolt rear end with 4.56:1 gearing.

A 4-link rear suspension is fitted and dampened with QA-1 adjustable coil-overs, and protective driveshaft loops and wheelie bars are also present.

The seller notes that the buyer will have the option of connecting with the engineer who designed the car.
