Vehicle Story

This 1973 Ford Mustang convertible has been in the same family since new and is now offered for sale by the original owner's son who took possession of the car in 1987. Powered by a 2-barrel equipped 351ci Cleveland bolted to an automatic transmission, the car has been regularly serviced and only driven in the summer and comes with a recent oil change and fresh brakes. Located in Hibbing, Minnesota, the sale of this Mustang convertible includes a clean title in the seller's name along with original documentation including the dealership order form.

Finished in blue with a silver hood accent, chrome bumpers, and trimmings. Exterior features include a dual scooped hood, white convertible top. The underside has been given a rust preventative treatment and the soft top is said to be in good condition without any signs of leaking or other issues.

Power steering and power brakes are equipped to assist in stopping and steering a set of Keystone wire wheels fitted with Michelin tires which have been on the car since 1987 but are said to remain in good, drivable condition.

Blue vinyl upholstery and matching blue carpeting cover the bucket seat interior which shows no notable signs of cracking or wear and tear. The factory AM/FM radio works properly along with the window cranks which are noted to be missing their front trim pieces and cruise control was also installed, however, not confirmed to be in working condition.

Although a tachometer was not optioned with the car, a fuel level gauge and 120-MPH speedometer are housed in the instrument panel with an odometer displaying 51,967 miles as shown in the above photo.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels by the car's factory 2-barrel carburetor equipped 351ci Cleveland V-8 rated for 168hp, a 3-speed automatic transmission, and the stock rear end. The car has been regularly serviced as needed with the last oil change completed 2 months ago and has accumulated approximately 11,000 miles of summertime driving since 1987 without any notable issues.

Additional photos of the undercarriage, documentation and the rest of the car can be found in the gallery.

@DannnyInNJ – Can we assume this follows the 60's/70's Ford rule: if we build a convertible, we don't install A/C? There car doesn't have air conditioning, is that correct? ...

Not necessarily. I had one just like this with factory air.
