1966 Pontiac GTO 4-Speed

This 1966 Pontiac GTO is finished in Burgundy over a black vinyl interior. Powered by the original 389ci V8, a factory-correct Tri-power was added and paired with a 4-speed manual transmission prior to the seller's acquisition. The seller has added 1,500 miles in the last two years of ownership. The GTO is now offered with a Connecticut registration in the seller's name.

Finished in Burgundy (Paint Code: N) with a black vinyl roof, the seller states the car received a full repaint in the original color in 2010 by the previous owner. The paint is said to be clear of blemishes with no evidence of rust. The chrome trim and bumpers are in good condition and also believed to be original.

The 17” aftermarket wheels are large-diameter reproductions of the Pontiac Rally II wheel and wrapped in BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 tires all the way around, 225/45-17 front and 255/45/17 rear. New front disc brakes with a new reservoir and boosters have been installed. New rear brake drums and linings, as well as brake lines, have also been installed since the seller's acquisition. The original 14” Pontiac Rally wheels and tires are to be included in the sale and pictured in the gallery.

The interior features black vinyl bucket seats with matching door panels, carpets, and dash pad. The dashboard features an AM/FM radio and manual climate control with wood veneer paneling. The optional air conditioning system is said to have undergone recent servicing with fresh R12 Freon. The polished factory shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission is housed in the center console has been reconditioned as well.

 A restored OEM wood steering wheel sits ahead of multiple gauges, including a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer and rally gauge package.

The 389ci V8 came from the factory originally equipped with a Carter 4-barrel carburetor but has been upgraded to a Tri-Power setup utilizing three Rochester 2-barrel carburetors. The original 3-speed automatic transmission has also been upgraded in favor of a 4-speed manual transmission. Both the Tri-Power and transmission were installed prior to the seller's acquisition. The transmission has recently been rebuilt. A recent tune-up also included new carburetor air filters to the two-barrel Rochester 2G carburetors. The seller installed new front disc brakes, booster, and reservoir as well as new rear drum brakes with new drums, and all new brake lines and fuel lines.
