This 1994 Dodge Viper RT/10 roadster shows 11,600 miles and was purchased new by ventriloquist, comedian, and actor Jeff Dunham in southern California. The vehicle was relocated to Georgia in 2016 when the seller acquired it from the second owner. Power is provided by the 400-horsepower aluminum 8.0-liter V10 which is backed by a BorgWarner 6-speed manual transmission and comes with maintenance records from new, including a recent service report from September 2020. Finished in Viper Red over a gray leather interior, this first-generation Viper is now offered with a Dunham-signed window sticker, complete service records, a hardtop, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Georgia title in the seller’s name.
The Viper convertible was launched by Chrysler Corporation in 1992 after appearing as a pre-production pace car the previous year at the Indianapolis 500. The body rides on a tubular space frame with a center spine structure, and exterior panels are made of composite material with fiber-reinforced skin. This 1994 example wears its original coat of Viper Red paint and features side-exit exhaust outlets, a fabric soft top with side curtains, and a removable red hardtop. The seller reports that the hardtop has a scratch.
Three-spoke 17” aluminum wheels are wrapped in staggered-width 335/35 rear and 275/40 front tires. Underneath is a four-wheel independent suspension with unequal-length upper and lower control arms, double-acting gas shocks, and front and rear sway bars, and deceleration is managed by four-wheel vented disc brakes. Modern driving aids such as traction control and anti-lock brakes were neither standard nor available options.
The interior offers manually adjustable high-back bucket seats covered in gray leather upholstery with color-matching door panels, center console, and dash, and contrasting black carpeting and embroidered floor mats. Amenities include air conditioning, a clock, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a steering column with tilt.
Instrumentation is comprised of white-faced factory displays for the 180-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges at the top of the center stack for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 11,600 original miles.
The hood is a forward-hinged one-piece clam shell which opens to reveal the mid-mounted 8.0-liter aluminum V10 which had factory ratings of 400 horsepower at 4,600 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. The CARFAX shows dealer maintenance performed in September 2020 which included an oil and filter change, an inspection, and an HVAC systems check. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a BorgWarner T-56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The CARFAX report shows no accidents or damage on record and documents a successful Georgia emissions inspection in 2017. The sale includes a hardtop, service records back to new and a window sticker signed by original owner Jeff Dunham, which shows an original purchase price of $57,300.
